Movie Tuesday

Still haven't managed to go see the Suicide Squad. I'm aiming for the weekend coming up. It's just been too busy.

I did see a movie on TV - The Big Wedding. It's got Robert DeNiro, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon and Katherine Heigl in it. It was a hoot and I enjoyed it. Nice and light and with a happy ending.

I've got Sharknado 4 (4?5? I can't remember what they are up to) but I haven't had the will to watch it yet. The first one was hilarious for how bad it was, the second was almost making fun of itself tongue in cheek, but the last one I remember was rapidly going downhill without that je ne said quoi that made the first one work. Has anyone seen this one? It is so bad it's funny or just so bad?

I guess that's all I've got on the movie front this week.

Have a good one!

Contest Winner and New Contest

Congratulations to Sarina, winner of the stuffed dinosaur of cuteness!

We're not even going to talk about how late I am in picking the winner, because at least I did get it picked. So, yay.  ahem

Okay, so the new contest is for a print copy of The Luckiest Master. Just send me an email with "Lucky Master" in the subject line to seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) before midnight on Friday and I will randomly choose a winner. The plan is to choose the on Saturday but my track record is not stellar in this area, but a winner will get chosen, if not Saturday then sometime after. I am happy to send books overseas, so don't let where you live stop you from entering.

When Master Damien Richardson (Day to his friends) takes over the front desk manager job at the Iron Eagle Gym, he knows he’s going to need an assistant. But finding the right person for the job is harder than he thought it would be. When he meets Saw, he thinks he’s found the solution to all his problems, and maybe something more.

Sawyer Whitehead lost his master to a tragic car accident some years ago, and since then one opportunity after another has gone sour on him. Thoroughly convinced he’s cursed and a jinx to everything and everyone he touches, he refuses to officially become Day’s assistant because he knows that as soon as he does, something terrible will happen. He’s even more determined not to get involved with Day, despite his attraction, because it would kill him to be responsible for tragedy befalling the lovely man.

Day must convince Saw that he’s not cursed and that together, they can face any challenge that comes their way—in both their professional and personal partnerships.

My God It's Monday

Wow, I nearly didn't make it through last week, but I spent the weekend working hard and finally got everything done and turned in, etc. Yay. And now it's a new week has started and I'm determined to make it a good one. I'm certainly starting off well -- I've got the back door open as the humidity isn't too bad today and its cooler. It's going to get hot and yuk later on, but right now, it's nice. Soon this will be every morning. September looks like it's going to start out hot, but I have faith that the fact that this is Ottawa will eventually pull that cooler and then cold weather in.

Watched the first episode of Better Late Than Never. I think they got the idea for this one from Idiot Abroad, which I love. This one was hilarious. I loved Bill Shatner going "I'm not 84!" when someone said he was. The truth is he's actually 85. But my absolutely favorite line is when they're eating a Japanese dish in a little wee restaurant and they ask the lady what they're eating and the answer is pig's vagina. Henry Winkler goes "Huh. Who knew?" And William Shatner, who had ordered it for them all grins and says "I did." Anyway. It was a hoot and I laughed the whole time. I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

Speaking of TV - The Great Food Truck Race just started a new season. I don't know what it is about this show, but I love it so much. I'm always excited that it has started again. I mean, I enjoy a lot of the cooking competition shows, but this one... I just love it so much!

I got the cover for Underground: Emergency Services and it's awesome. Kris Norris does great work. I'm trying to decide whether to do a cover reveal myself or to see if I can find a blog to do it. I'm also going to look for blogs to do a few guests posts on for when the book comes out (which I'm hoping is in the first week or two of September - will depend on how quick I am turning the edits back around.)

From the Get Go has just hit the coming soon page of Dreamspinner. Wicked Reads has done the cover reveal. That includes my reaction to the cover, the blurb, an excerpt and a giveaway! You can check that out here.

From the Get Go was first published in 2005 and has been cleaned up and re-edited, but it does not have new material in it. Thank you so much to Dreamspinner for picking it up and re-publishing it!

When easygoing Texas artist Dakin McBride makes his way to Ottawa, Canada, for a showing, he meets Jeff Tamrin, the fastidious manager of the Sussex Gallery. Despite coming from different worlds and being opposites in almost every way, the attraction is immediate, and soon Dakin and Jeff negotiate their own brand of diplomatic relations, forgetting all about art or seeing the sights the city has to offer. They get wrapped up in the moment, each of them intrigued by what he feels for the other.

The more they get to know each other, the more they like what they see. Dakin has a life to go back to in Texas, though, and Jeff has his own in Canada. Is there any way for their budding romance to survive the thousands of miles separating them? The relationship seems doomed, but at the same time, it feels too right to give up without a fight.

It's currently available for pre-order at Dreamspinner Press. It'll be available for download on September 28.

Have a great Monday all!

Humping Day Excerpt - Ves'tacha

I've just re-released an out of print story. This one is from 2003! One of my first published stories. It was originally in the Shifting anthology which is no longer available. It was weird giving it a quick once-over. But I thought I would just toss up a smutty excerpt for it - it is humping day after all!

Ves'tacha

What happens when an Alpha takes a mate who might one day succeed him?

Sochar has spent his whole life admiring Gareth, his Alpha. For his part, Gareth has known from first sight that Sochar is his ves’tacha – lifelong mate, lover – and he’s been waiting for Sochar to come into his own and demand Gareth’s attention. When it finally happens, both werewolves indulge in their love and demand that the Pack accept things the way they are; after all, Gareth is the Alpha.

Everything is wonderful, to begin with, all shared hunting, loving and tail-chasing, but Sochar is moving into his prime, and the Pack is always looking for the next Alpha who will keep them strong. Can Gareth and Sochar survive if the pack looks to Sochar to fight Gareth for the position?

Smutty excerpt:

Gareth ran their muzzles together, rumbling softly, chuffing. He whimpered and risked rubbing against the beautiful, solid body. The caress was accepted, Gareth rubbing back, the scent of hunger and something new in the air.
He raised his muzzle, sniffing, liking the new musk; it made his flanks quiver and he whined. Gareth rumbled softly, the sound familiar and comforting, vibrating deep within him. Sochar barked happily, telling Gareth he was Alpha, most loved, most beautiful.
Gareth answered, the low yips and growls an offer, a wish. It was heady, to hear the Alpha had wanted him, watched, waited. His own barks were high, excited and he lay down in front of Gareth, rolling, showing his belly, offering himself.
Gareth gave him a happy sound, muzzle tickling his belly, making him squirm and pant. He chuffed happily, enjoying the way Gareth played with him, showed him a side only the littlest pups got to see of the Alpha.
They began wrestling, rolling together, Gareth letting him learn the strength, the power in the lean body. It was a little intimidating, but also exciting, testing himself, learning Gareth. And the freedom to touch, to rub against Gareth... it made him want to howl.
Gareth's scent was coursing through him, was in his fur, in his nose, mingling with the crushed grass and the water and the scent of night. It made him ache, made him want... made him want all sorts of things he knew he was supposed to want with one of the bitches, but didn't.
Suddenly Gareth morphed, the long, lean Alpha staring over at him. The Alpha's hair was dark, grey streaks shining in the moonlight.
Oh. Oh, he swallowed and shook, eyes closing as he shifted, the transition still a little awkward. He was shy without his fur, shivering as the breeze blew over his bare skin.
"Sochar." The word was rumbled, low, Gareth’s muscled arms opening for him.
"Gareth," he breathed the Alpha's name, moving forward, pushing into the open arms and whimpering as warm skin met his own.
He was shaking, adrenaline and wonder, excitement and a touch of fear firing through him. The soft comforting sounds remained the same, warm hands petting him, holding him close. It calmed him and excited him at the same time and he looked up at Gareth, making a soft sound of inquiry, of need, of want.
Gareth leaned down toward him, lips exploring his face. They were surprisingly soft and warm, gentle. He whimpered, holding onto Gareth as he grew hard, the sweet touches making his breath short, making him want so much. His lips were lapped, nuzzled, fingers stroking his spine, his nape, pushing into his hair.
"Gareth." Another whimper left him and he followed his instincts, body rubbing against Gareth, shuddering at the sensation of his hard cock sliding along Gareth's skin.
Gareth growled, nostrils flaring. "Yes."
"Yes?" It this okay? I want more. Can I? His thoughts stayed quiet though and he just gazed up into those ice eyes and kept rubbing, shivers increasing.
"Yes." Gareth's hand slid over his shaft, lips covering his, making him want to rub and jerk and howl and arch.
He pushed sounds into Gareth's mouth as he pushed his cock into Gareth's touch, sure he was going to explode. Gareth was strong around him, so sure, so warm and comforting and arousing and... Oh.
He did explode. Just like that, he came, only it wasn't like rubbing off on his own had ever been. It was... it was everything and when he was done he kind of collapsed, but Gareth had him. Gareth had him.

Not Movie But Still Tuesday

It's supposed to be Movie Tuesday today but I haven't been to a new movie in a while and I didn't watch any on TV either. It's been pretty much all Olympics all the time. While fun, it's intensive and I'm always glad that it's over and I can get back to my routine. Of course by the time the winter ones roll around, I'll be totally ready to immerse myself in for another two weeks. And as much as I love the summer Olympics, I love the winter ones, just that little bit more.

Anyway, so that's why it's Not a Movie Tuesday.

So I'm scrolling through facebook and there's one of those 'suggested posts' that's really an advertisement. It's for a telescope and it says, "see a fly from 3300 feet away." And my only thought is why the heck would I want to see a fly from any distance, let alone 3300 feet away?

My Pen15 Club colouring books arrived yesterday. I picked up two so I had one to give away. They are hilarious and I totally should have picked up a couple more to give away. I think I'll make it a part of my basket for the Coastal Magic Con raffle.

I have a birdfeeder and a bunch of suet block holders out in the backyard. I have all sorts of birds showing up for the seeds including blue jays, cardinals, finches, sparrows, grackels and my favorites - two different kinds of woodpeckers. There are also black squirrels, grey squirrels, red squirrels and chipmunks! It'll be interesting to see what all stays when winter rolls around.

Mmmm winter... yes, I said the W word! I am looking forward to fall and winter and we've had two mornings in a row where it's been much cooler out and I've been able to leave the back door open for a couple of hours. It's going back to full on summer this afternoon, but it's given me a taste of the cooler weather coming soon.

I've seen a draft of the cover for Emergency Services, the next Underground book and I can't wait to share it with you once it's done! Been two years since the first one came out. I'll try not to let it go as long for the third one.

Staying on the self-pubbing front. I'm currently working on the next VG book, which it seems wants to be a foursome. I shall no doubt have to let it be so! And I'm also working on the next Mannies book. This one is going gangbusters. I do love it when they tootle along happily on their own. I'm also hoping to have a new Hammer novel for December, as it's my tradition to have a Hammer and a Mannies book out early in the that month. I don't know if I'm going to have the time, though. I've got deadlines for my non-self-pubbed stuff.... we shall see!

I keep having to remind myself that it is Tuesday today and not Wednesday. I don't know why I keep thinking it's Wednesday, either.

Have a great rest of the week,

My God It's Monday

It's my final Olympic observations post

  • The craziness of the bronze wrestling bout where the Mongolian guy celebrated before time was up and wound up losing... the best bit of that drama? His coaches taking off their clothes and throwing them in front of the judges in protest. The one guy got all the way down to his skivvies. O.o
  • Interrupting the Olympic coverage to bring us The Tragically Hip's last concert live and in full. Thank you CBC for that.
  • Race-walking, still the funniest looking sport, but man, those guys race-walked 50K! And in under four hours in that heat. Impressive. Not surprising they were collapsing just across the finish line.
  • The sculpture around the Olympic flame was stunning.
  • I love that the athletes parade into the closing ceremonies willy nilly - they can be with their countrymen, they can be with new friends made, it's all one mish-mash.
  • I do love watching the Olympics, but I am so ready to get back to normal viewing habits. And to not being distracted by things happening when I really should be... editing, writing, filling out forms, take your pick.
  • My favorite new Olympic sport was the rugby 7s. I enjoyed watching the men play, too, but the women were stunning. Tough and capable and I loved the Maori warrior dance the New Zealand team did after they'd lost.
  • Least favorite new Olympic sport - golf. I say again, why Olympics, why? (it bears repeating)
  • I love that this year's Olympics gave me another swimmer, whose book is coming along nicely. I'm not sure if I'll self-pub or submit somewhere, but look for it next year sometime :)

Have a great week everyone!

Suddenly Sunday

And suddenly August 21... Wow, time is marching on like it's late for a hot date.

Olympics almost over - I'll watch the closing ceremonies tonight and do a last Olympics observations tomorrow.

Did errands and edits today, along with filling out some cover forms. And the word goes on.

It rained all day, now it's not. They were calling for thundershowers, but that totally didn't happen. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler - though I'm not sure if that's going to happen given that we didn't get the thunderstorms to clear things out, but then it's back to fairly warm. By next weekend it should be more temperate. Not cool or cold, but not as hot as its been. I'm looking forward to being able to keep the back door open and having a nice breeze blow through. And wearing a sweater or a hoodie. Man, I miss the cooler weather.

With Underground: Emergency Services at edits, I'm trying to plan out my self-pub schedule. I want to do a Velvet Glove book a Hammer book a Mannies, a Fairytale Shifters... so many stories, not enough time. If I didn't have to sleep, I could totally get twice as much done!

Okay. I've erranded, I've worked, and tomorrow is Monday. Time to grill up some burgers and sit back and relax for the evening.

Have a good end of the weekend!

No dress rehearsal, this is our life.

Just finished watching the last Tragically Hip concert along with the rest of Canada. I love that CBC did this without commercials, without censoring, and without cutting it when it went over. I love feeling like the entire country was watching with me. This really was our band. So many great songs, so many amazing lines.

Road Apples is my favorite of their albums - one of my all time favorite albums period. And this is one of my favorite songs from the album. (Though it's hard to choose, every song on that one is great.)

"Little Bones"

It gets so sticky down here
Better butter your cue finger up
It's the start of another new year
Better call the newspaper up
Two fifty for a hi-ball
And buck and a half for a beer
Happy hour, happy hour
Happy hour is here

The long days of Shockley are gone
So is football Kennedy style
Famous last words taken all wrong
Wind up on the very same pile
Two fifty for a decade
And a buck and a half for a year
Happy hour, happy hour
Happy hour is here

I can cry, beg and whine
To every rebel I find
Just to give me a line
I could use to describe

They'd say, "Baby, eat this chicken slow
It's full of all them little bones"
"Baby, eat this chicken slow
It's full of all them little bones"

So regal and decadent here
Coffin cheaters dance on their graves
Music all it's delicate fear
Is the only thing that don't change
Two fifty for an eyeball
And a buck and a half for an ear
Happy hour, happy hour
Happy hour is here

Well, nothing's dead down here, it's just a little tired
Nothing is dead down here, it's just a little tired
Nothing's -dead down here, it's just a little tired
Nothing is dead down here, it's just a little tired

"Baby, eat this chicken slow
It's full of all them little bones"
"Baby, eat this chicken slow
It's full of all them little bones"
Little bones
Full of all them little bones
Little bones

Smutterday - Reclaiming

The first book in the Immortal Ink series -- Reclaiming -- is currently available for early download at Pride Publishing (look for it to be available through the distributors on September 13).

I have to admit, the reader advisory on this one makes me grin - beware there's biting and bloodplay in this story about vampires! I would have thought that was kind of a given, seeing as they're... you know, vampires :) Suffice it to say, this one is mucho kinky! And also - I love the last line of the smutty excerpt I'm sharing here today.

Reclaiming

Beau thought Aaron was dead to him… Imagine his surprise when his former lover slinks into his tattoo shop.

Eight months ago, vampire Beaudelaire Delacourte had it all. As a tattoo artist, he used his special ink and spells to permanently tattoo other immortals and spent countless hours feeding and indulging in BDSM with his human lover, Aaron. Then he asked to turn Aaron so his lover could join him permanently, but Aaron refused, not willing to give up his humanity.
Since then, Beau has kept his head down and stayed in his shop, only interacting with his clients who all come for his special brand of ink.

When Aaron shows up on his doorstep, half-dead and apologizing Beau is shocked to learn that his boy was turned at the local vampire club by Stephan, another vampire. Not only was Aaron turned, but his chest was torn open, his fangs were broken and he was left in an alley to die. Spurred by the need to see Beau one last time, Aaron has been hiding in an abandoned building until he found the strength to make it to Beau’s shop.

Beau takes his boy in again, promising that Aaron will earn his place back in Beau’s bed, and vowing that he will take revenge on Stephan. Unbeknownst to Beau, Aaron is only the first in a long line of humans who Stephan has created then turned out to fend for themselves. As Beau discovers that this is only one of the old rules that Stephan has broken, he and Aaron are drawn into a web of intrigue that can only end in someone’s death.

Reader Advisory: This books contains severe biting and bloodplay during sex between vampires. There is also a scene of fisting and some scenes of violence.

Smutty excerpt:

"That’s why I bound you with the honeysuckle.” Beau traced the tattoo again. “Do you understand? I’ve bound you to me with my tattoo. It will last forever and you will be mine as long as you wear it. I have added my will to yours with these sigils.”

“Yours.” Aaron's silent heart felt as if it could beat at that.

“That’s right.” Suddenly Beau kissed him, hard and toothy. Necessary.

His eyes went wide, and he stared into Beau’s beautiful dark eyes. God, he hadn’t forgotten how stunning Beau was. Beau stared right back, the kiss not easing for a second.

Aaron reached up, fingers tangling in the heavy mass of hair, the ebony strands raw silk. Beau growled for him again, the sound pleased rather than angry this time. Then Beau bit at his lower lip, enough to make him bleed, he sting almost delicious.

He gasped, his body trying hard to respond, his cock actually trying to respond. Then Beau clipped his own lip, the drops slipping into Aaron’s mouth. The blood tasted of fire, and he cried out, the rush unlike anything he’d ever felt. One drop after another dripped onto his tongue, his body absorbing it like a sponge.

His whole body felt alive, electric. He began to rock, the fabric of his clothes too rough, the dirt in the fibers unbearable. Whether Beau knew somehow or wanted him naked, it didn’t matter, the results were the same. Beau ripped his clothing from him, baring his skin to the air. And Beau’s touch.

He muttered out his thanks, his agony, even as he worried about the heavy scars that covered him. Beau dragged his fingers along Aaron’s skin, nails scoring him, the wounds healing immediately. The sensations confused him, aroused him and worried him. Mostly they made him want to bite.

More drops poured into his mouth as Beau kissed him, each one making things more intense. He cried out, arched into Beau’s body. Beau tongue-fucked his mouth, leading his body into a dance.

Insane. This was making him utterly insane.

Rolling on top of him, Beau rocked against him. Beau was as hard as he was. The desire stole his breath and gave him something dangerous. It gave him hope.

Beau moved slowly, thrusting against him, the huge, hard cock pushing and rubbing on his own, and every time Aaron began to worry, to doubt, another drop of blood slid into his lips, distracting him. Arousing him. Beau’s blood made him feel invincible.

“See, child? I told you I would protect you.”

“Beau,” he breathed out the name.

“Yes. And don’t you forget it. Don’t you ever forget I am your true Master.”

Beau continued to move, driving him higher. Aaron’s cock began to leak, heated drops forming at the tip. It slicked the way, Beau moving faster.

“Smell you, A.”

“I thought… I thought I’d never…” Not for an eternity.

“You weren’t with the one you were made for. Now you are.”

All Aaron could do was groan. Was this real, true?

Beau moved faster, drops of blood continuing to fall into Aaron’s mouth and making him feel more vigorous, more everything. Suddenly Beau pushed him over, rubbing them together, the friction enough to make Aaron twist.

“You’re going to come for me, Aaron. You’re going to feel it shooting through your body and out your cock.”

“Will it feel the same?” He’d dreamed of coming in Beau’s arms since he’d been turned, but had never once believed it could be true. Hell, this was the first time he’d been hard since he’d been turned.

“I don’t know—I’ve been like this a very long time.”

And Beau was perfect.

Beau bit into his lips again. “You’ll have to tell me.”

Any pleasure was more than Aaron had ever prayed for, so it didn’t matter if it were the same or nowhere near as good.

Beau rocked harder, their bodies tight together, and an ache began to build inside Aaron, the sensation huge, fierce and more than he could comprehend.

Head dropping to Aaron’s throat, Beau threatened his skin with those sharp incisors. Aaron lifted his chin, because what else was he going to do? This he understood. This he believed in.

When Beau’s teeth sank into his skin again, Aaron felt it throughout his entire body. He screamed silently, his hips jerking. Beau sucked hard, pulling Aaron’s orgasm right out of him, cum pouring from his cock.

This wasn’t coming, though. This was dissolving. This was dying, and it felt so good.

Random Friday - Olympics edition

Yes, my mind is still on the Olympics. What can I say? I love me some well-hung athletes. I mean able-bodied athletes. Yeah, that's it. Ahem.

  • Was on the road Friday and Saturday and managed to miss Michael Phelps' last two races. It's just not the same on reply when you already know the results.
  • I love Bolt's "lightningbolt" stance he does after winning a race.
  • Love the bi-play between Bolt and DeGrasse at the 200m semi-final.
  • Love the fact that DeGrasse earned a silver at the final even more.
  • You're 21, at your first Olympics and you come. in silver behind one of the greatest sprinters of all time and the answer to the question - are you happy with your race is I don't know, I'll have to look at the tape. I didn't come in first so... I would say that's why you're an Olympian level athlete, right? That was Andrew DeGrasse's comments to the Canuck reporter right after the 200m final, btw.
  • I love that the US decathlete Ashton Eaton is married to a Canadian pentathlon and heptathlon athlete Brianne Thiessen-Eaton.
  • And their commercial for Visa is adorable!
  • Shot-put athletes look like they're chunky - I know it's massive chest muscles, but with their tops on and compared to all the lean muscles we see for most of the other sports, they look chunky.
  • Race-walking. It looks funny as hell, but they are moving and 50K? That's fucking far! Also these guys are very lean.
  • Watching the wrestling - I'm with the refs - more action, please!
  • Decathletes have some stanima - two twelve hour days in a row, five events each day. And they finish it off with a 1500m run? What masochist decided a mile run should be the last event?
  • Have I said this before -- You brought back golf, Olympics? Why?
  • BMX biking is amazing to watch. Those riders are crazy. They're like the snowboarders of bicycling.

They're almost over! Just a couple of days left and then there will be the closing ceremony chaos and that's it for the summer Olympics for another four years.

Happy Friday to all.

Humping Day Excerpt - The Luckiest Master

I thought I'd share a smutty excerpt from The Luckiest Master, which is currently on pre-order and will be available for download on Monday.

Smutty Excerpt:

Master Day cupped one of his cheeks, holding his gaze. “I’m going to be fine. So are you. Take the leap with me. I want to bring you such pleasure.”

“You promise?”

Master Day stood and held a hand out to him. “I promise, Saw. I promise.”

It took everything that Saw had, but he reached out for it. Master Day drew him up and brought their mouths together, the kiss soft. Master Day’s hand remained wrapped around his, the other cupping the back of his neck, tilting him slightly as the kiss deepened.

Saw arched, their bodies rocking together, nice and steady. Groaning, Master Day tugged him even closer. He could feel the strong muscles, and the thick cock, hard at Master Day’s middle. There was nothing to do but shudder and press closer and push deeper into their kiss.

Master Day began to move, walking backward and bringing him along. They made it into the living area, then to the stairs.

“I think we’re going to have to stop kissing for a few moments.” Master Day licked Saw’s lips and rubbed their noses together.

“That’s probably true.” He didn’t need Master Day falling down the stairs.

Master Day kissed him again, then took his hand and led him up the stairs. They went quickly, Master Day clearly eager to pick back up where they’d left off. The upstairs was simple—a window and two doors.

“Like I said, tour later.” Master Day took him to the door at the end and they went in, the room large, but all he really saw was the king-size bed.

Master Day drew Saw right to it, then tugged him close again, mouth pressing against his. This kiss wasn’t easy, gentle. This one stole his breath and his good sense. Moaning, Master Day grabbed his ass, squeezing and pulling him close. It had been so long and it felt so good.

His cock was hard and aching, his balls full and tight.

Master Day began to unbutton his shirt. “I want to tear your clothes off and make mad love to you, but I also want it to last all night long.”

“Yes, Master.” Oh, he loved to be able to say that.

Master Day moaned at his words and pulled him close, kissing him hard once again. His eyes rolled up, his heart pounding strong and quick. Master Day kept kissing him, fingers fumbling with his shirt once again. It felt amazing to know he affected this man so much. Master Day opened his shirt, then tugged it off his shoulders, fingers moving to stroke him skin on skin. He swore he could feel tingles wherever Master Day touched him.He sucked in, his belly aching with need.

“Pretty baby.” Master Day stroked his abs, fingers tracing his muscles and leaving the tingles behind. Goose bumps broke out, the ache increasing. He hadn’t done this in so, so long.

Happy Humping Day!

Still hot, though we finally have had a couple full days of rain which I'm sure has helped the crops/flower/trees quite a bit. Very muggy today despite cooler temperatures one gets wet when walking outdoors. Still. Over halfway through August - it will be fall before we know it.

I have lots of edits to do over the next couple of weeks, but I'm hoping to have a new Underground book ready to put out before the end of September! It's finished, it's in edits and then Emergency Services can be unleashed on the world.

I've got blog posts to write today. More edits to shake my stick at. And I suppose I should clean the kitchen so the dishes don't take over. The pots and pans are leading the charge, but the utensils are vicious little beasts. The dishes break easily, so they tend to hold the back line ;)

But hey, it's Wednesday so that means it's humping day! Perhaps I shall find a little humping day themed snippet to share - after all, The Luckiest Master is out on Monday and I need to tempt you with a smutty excerpt!

Have a good rest of the week,

Movie Tuesday

Haven't been to a movie or seen one at home over the last week. It's been all Olympics on the TV.

I do want to get to Suicide Squad on the big screen. I have heard mixed reviews for it, so I'm going in with a little trepidation, but movies tend to be better for me if I'm not anticipating them too highly. The less they have to live up to, the better really.

I keep thinking that I'll do lots of movies over the summer months when there's lots of new ones coming out each week and then it somehow doesn't happen. Usually because I have stuff to do. And in the end, most movies are just as good at home with less other people and the ability to pause the movie if I need something to eat or to go to the bathroom.

Gonna try for Suicide Squad this weekend. That would give me something to report back on next week ;)

Mid-Month Book News

It's the last day of my sale at All Romance Ebooks. 25% off all my self-pubbed titles. Just a few hours left - it's until midnight tonight (EST). You can find them here.

My first book in the Dragon Soul series, with Carina Press, is in edits. This one is called Branded by Flames and I'm also waiting on my first draft cover with them. I'm very excited. This book features the first of five dragon shifter brothers. Jake is a firefighter and he falls for metal sculptor Shae. Look for the book in late January or early February.

Underground: Emergency Services is with my editor! This one features firefighter Blaze and his sub Jet. Jet's an undercover cop who is badly injured at the beginning of the story and the pair have to figure out how to make their lives work now. I can't wait to share it with you all - I'm looking at sometime in September, I think.

The Luckiest Master, third in the Iron Eagle Gym series and a stand along novel, will be out for download on Monday next week!

My novella Of Love is now available for pre-order in two different languages! German and Italian! How cool is that? It's pretty darn cool.

I'm sure there's more, but I'm a bit scattered today - I blame the todo list of dooooom.

More Olympic Observations

I am still watching the Olympics. More things I have observed:

  • I still love Michael Phelps.
  • Really, Olympics - you brought back golf?
  • Rugby is a pretty brutal sport, but damn it's fun to watch.
  • Gymnastics is actually long - there's the team all around, the individual all around, and then all the apparatus medals and they do their routines for each of those.
  • Swimming is long because there are five bazillion different races - between the different strokes combined with different lengths...
  • Speaking of swimming - did I mention I love Michael Phelps?
  • Canadian and American sports announcers are equally annoying.
  • It's winter in Brazil. Their temps in winter are similar to my early summer. I am definitely not moving to Brazil.
  • I have to admit that Rio is gorgeous, though.
  • Archery - dude the guy from Italy totally looks like he's just gotten up off the couch and said (in Italian) hey, I can do that.
  • All the martial arts, boxing, and fencing get the short shrift when it comes to TV coverage.
  • And yet, they are showing golf. Golf. Why, Olympics, why?
  • I'm not sure that tape that the athletes wear is doing anything other than giving them interesting tans.
  • Don't swallow the water in Brazil. Even if you're swimming in it. And especially if it's green.
  • There is no privacy in the Olympics. The cameras followed the divers into their locker area yesterday where the gold medalists were literally changing from speedos into street clothes with towels around their waists because there were cameras there. I'm surprised they don't have cameras in their dorms.
  • Every time there's an event from Copacabana beach, I start singing the the Barry Manilow song.

Happy Olympics watching!

Olympics Watching Fool

Been watching the Olympics non-stop the last two days. I shall happily continue to do so until they are over. Although I admit, usually by the end I'm happy there isn't another week of it ;)

Observations:

  • I still love Michael Phelps and I'm hoping he wins gold in every race he does.
  • Soccer players are thin and often tall while rugby players are thick and usually short.
  • Beach volleyball is exciting and I love the games that go back and forth scoring-wise.
  • They've scheduled the swimming finals so they can air live during the prime-time evening hours. There's something wrong about the TV stations being able to dictate that kind of thing.
  • There's a lot of sports I know very little about but love watching during the Olympics.
  • Every sport has it's own lingo and before the games are over, I'll be tossing around that lingo like I'm a pro.
  • Did I mention the swimming, especially the men's? I do love Michael Phelps.
  • The abs on the women beach volleyball players. Fucking stunning.
  • It's not just the soccer and rugby players - the athletes all have differently shaped bodies depending on what sport they are participating in.
  • The divers have stunning bodies and in those little speedos, they are all on display.
  • I love Michael Phelps' arm flap thing he does at the start.
  • Games are much more fun to watch if they are close.
  • I prefer the individual gymnastics rounds over the team events. I don't know why, I just do.
  • I'm never so patriotic as during the Olympics.

Happy watching.

Movie Tuesday

Went to see Star Trek Beyond in 3D at the IMAX. It was a great movie. Snark, action and kick ass special effects. It was very much a Star Trek movie. Totally enjoyed it.

Bought Batman VS Superman and watched it the next day. I heard it was a bad movie from many sources so my expectations were quite low. Turns out they were not low enough. What a pointless, boring movie. And I know Batman is the darkest and the baddest of the Justice League superheroes, but he comes off as a total asshole in this one. It was a waste of money, a waste of time and a waste anyone who was involved with it or who watched it's brain cells. Why yes, I do have strong feelings about how bad this movie was ;)

Have a great Tuesday!

My God It's Monday - Olympic edition

Let's talk Olympics - are you watching? I totally am.

I've had guests the last two days which has messed with my Olympics watching mojo, I've just caught a bit here and there. Starting today, though, I'm focused.

CBC Rio 2016 ap installed on the phone -- check
Channels on TV where they're showing events memorized -- check
New Olympic swimmer book started -- check

Looks like I'm ready!

I do love the Olympics. It's funny because I'm not a huge sports watching person, but give me the Olympics, summer or winter and I am there, morning to night, watching the games. There are always a few, sometimes a lot, of magical moments, stories that make you amazed, that make you stand up and cheer from athletes of all nationalities.

Then there's my favorites, men's swimming and men's gymnastics, beach volleyball (men's and women's) and women's gymnastics. Love those the best, but I will watch whatever is on.

And yes, let me sit firmly in the shallow end of the pool for a moment. These athletes are in incredible shape and simply beautiful to watch. I have a things for abs, men's, women's, a good set of abs makes me extremely happy.

Happy Monday to all.

How is it Saturday already? AKA The To Do List is Longer Today Than it Was on Monday!

The week really has flown by. The todo list really does remain quite huge and I'm trying not to think of it too much so it doesn't paralyze me.

The touchpad on my laptop stopped working the other day. Luckily I had an external mouse handy to plug into it. Funny how I used to hate the touchpad but after well over a year of using it all the time, I've totally gotten used to it and the mouse (it was a trackball mouse actually) felt really weird. Even more luckily (luckilyer?) the trackpad started working again, just as randomly.

The Olympics have started. I believe I've mentioned before that I do love the Olympics. I love cheering for Canada. I love watching all the athletes from around the world excel. I'm glad Michael Phelps is back for one more Olympics and that Usain Bolt will be running again this year.

It breaks my heart to see how a large percentage of the population live in Brazil, though. It breaks my heart that any child anywhere is stuck in abject poverty, doesn't know where their next meal is coming from and has very little hope for their future.

I got a submission in this week. Next week I have two more completed that need to be gone through and then submitted, and I have the next Underground novel to get to my editor. I hope to have it out at some point in September. This one stars a yummy cop and his equality yummy firefighting dom.

I got the last of the Amber reprints out yesterday. I do love the cover for Welcome to Love, the anthology with the reprints that Amber took and re-released. Now they are re-re-release.

Welcome to Love

There’s nothing like falling in love for the first time.

Welcome to Love collects seven stories about love, passion and finding your bliss.

In The Good Life, Jack inherits his uncle’s ranch and immediately clashes with foreman Pacer. Can the men find a middle ground before they both lose the ranch forever?

Welcome Home finds two men at different places in their lives. Watson is running away, while Bandy picked up the pieces a long time ago. Can Bandy convince Watson he can make a home for both of them?

Next up, a mystical fast and a desert hideaway bring Burke and Kristopher together. Can they find the strength to believe in fate in Into the Looking Glass?

In Corpus Christi, Jeff is right out of the service while Hunter’s been around the block a few times. Can they find common ground in each other?

No Regrets takes place over the holidays. Singer Drake is burnt out, can his old friend, artist Scott, invites him to stay. Can Drake not only find peace for the holiday season, but also love?

Making Your Own Luck introduces Isaac, who is very superstitious and this Friday the thirteenth is shaping up to be a disaster. Can Rusty turn Isaac’s luck from bad to good?

And finally, in Recipe for Love, meeting under unfortunate circumstances doesn’t stop the attraction from flaring between Jack and Daniel. Can they find the right recipe for love?

August Book News

Lots of book stuff for August.

First - all of my self-published titles at All Romance Ebooks are 25% off from August 1 - August 15! That's all of them -- the brand new ones and the reprints!

Blowing Smoke is now available for download at All Romance Ebooks.

Blowing Smoke

Do dragons have soul mates?

Brinley Adams is pleased to get a job as assistant to elusive and reclusive billionaire Lindrom Drage. That the job requires him to live in the man’s home in the country is only a bonus. While he’s not exactly running away, he’s trying to leave behind a crazy, stalking ex, and Drage’s isolated home might be just the place to hide.

Lindrom Drage, known at home as Dragon, just wants an assistant who works out for longer than a month or two. He’s already gone through several in the last year, and he wants someone who can do the job and put up with his refusal to deal with anything that takes him out of his home. But when he meets Brin, he suddenly wants so much more than just a work assistant.

Brin feels the pull between them as strongly as Dragon does, but Brin doesn’t know Dragon’s true secret – the man is actually a dragon and he believes that Brin is his mate. The trick is going to be convincing Brin that neither of them is crazy, and that not only are dragons real, so are soul mates.

I am writing a new (novel length) series with Pride Publishing, called Immortal Ink. Beaudelaire Delacourte is a vampire. He’s also a tattoo artist who inks magical creatures with a special immortal ink. There’s no telling who will enter his shop next or what adventures his clients will bring with them.

The first book in the series - Reclaiming - will be available for pre-order tomorrow. It'll be available for early download on the Pride Publishing bookstore on August 16, and out on the distributors on September 13.

When Aaron shows up on his doorstep, half-dead and apologizing, Beau is shocked to learn that his boy was turned at the local vampire club by Stephan, another vampire.

Pre-order it starting August 2

The next book in the Iron Eagle Gym series is available for pre-order and will be available for download (everywhere) on August 22. This one has appearances by some of the characters in the first two books, but it is a stand alone story.

The Luckiest Master

When Master Damien Richardson (Day to his friends) takes over the front desk manager job at the Iron Eagle Gym, he knows he’s going to need an assistant. But finding the right person for the job is harder than he thought it would be. When he meets Saw, he thinks he’s found the solution to all his problems, and maybe something more.

Sawyer Whitehead lost his master to a tragic car accident some yeas ago, and since then one opportunity after another has gone sour on him. Thoroughly convinced he’s cursed and a jinx to everything and everyone her touches, he refuses to officially become Day’s assistant because he knows that as soon as he does, something terrible will happen. He’s even more determined not to get involved with Day, despite his attraction, because it would kill him to be responsible for tragedy befalling the lovely man.

Day must convince Saw that he’s not cursed and that together, they can face any challenge that comes their way—in both their professional and personal partnerships.

Currently on pre-order at Dreamspinner Press
