Suddenly Sunday

Suddenly Sunday indeed, and suddenly just two days left on my visit - I go home on  Tuesday. So I will be out of pocket once we head out to the airport - it's two flights with a three hour layover in Chicago. I suspect I shall collapse onto my bed once I get home.

I can't believe it's already been almost two weeks! Time goes so very fast when you're spending it with friends, talking and laughing and doing together.

So it's been a busy fall, which mostly means lots of writing and tasks related to writing. So I have lots of goodies coming out in the next month.

  • The cover reveal for Add Love and Mix from Dreamspinner is tomorrow, and the book will be available for pre-order then.
  • As It Should Be, a Winbrothers anthology reprint comes out December 6
  • 'Twas the Night, a brand new Hammer story comes out on December 1
  • Wicked Gifts, a fun threesome Christmas reprint comes out on December 8
  • Making it Right, a mannies story comes out December 15
  • Shifter Rescue: Soul, the sequel to Spirit comes out December 16

I've made a graphic for my smutty advent posts this year. Only a few days before it starts, are you ready? I'm not! grins  I have prizes, and I'll be featuring Christmas books and fun holiday themed links and stuff, but I haven't given any thought to what goes when or started making posts. I guess I'm going to do a lot of winging it!

Happy Sunday to all!

Suddenly Sunday

Time is going far too fast - it always does when I come to New Mexico for Thanksgiving. But I really wish it would go slower at the moment. Maybe just a little bubble over us.

I have a very busy December coming up, between book releases and Smutty Advent, which I'm going to be doing differently this year. I just didn't have time to do snippets for every day like I have done in the past, so instead there will be content every day - smutty excerpts from holiday books, lots of giveaways and physical prizes. Sort of like a mash-up of Halloweenpalooza and the Smutty Advents of the past.

Anyway. I think that's it for today - I'm on vacation :)

Suddenly Sunday

It's already Sunday. It's already November 13. I can hardly believe that in 3 days I will be on my way to New Mexico to spend Thanksgiving with BA and Julia. Time has just flown. And of course the last few days and the next three days seem super busy as I try to wrap up as much as I can and get ready to go.

I'm really looking forward to it - it's always a fun and relaxing time and we laugh so much. I can't wait.

I have all three of my upcoming self-pubs with my editor (I am working her hard this month!) Velvet Quartet is back for a second round of edits, and should be out in the next week or so. Look for Twas the Night Before Christmas, Hammer Style on December 1 and Making it Work, the new mannies book on December 15.

Then there's Add Love and Mix, which is coming out at the end of December (and will be up for pre-order at the end of November) from Dreamspinner. It's got a firefighter, and EMT, and a surprise! six year old daughter. I can't wait to tell you more about it and share the sexy cover!

Changeling Press has put my Rose and Thorne series into a "box set." You can now get all four books in one download for a great price! If you haven't had a chance to read this series yet, now's the best time to do it.

Apparently Rose is just too big and scary to be a bouncer at the local club. He's considering going back into competitive bodybuilding when he meets Thorne. Short, slender and covered in ink, Thorne knows from the moment they meet Rose is the one.

Rose has been brought up to think things like spanking during sex are weird. Will Thorne be able to convince him whatever gets them off together is perfectly normal for them? And if he does, will Rose be able to take the next step -- calling Thorne Sir?

Publisher’s Note: Rose and Thorne (Box Set) contains the previously published novellas Every Rose Has His Thorne, Tending to Rose, Keeping Sir Thorne, and Swinging Along by author Sean Michael.

Suddenly Sunday

Somehow it's been a really busy weekend. Loads of errands, lots of baking, gift wrapping. Had a wonderful time at my mother's for her birthday today, though, so it was all worth it.

I will pull week 4 Halloweenpalooza winners tomorrow and get caught up there. I can't believe tomorrow is already Halloween! This month has just flown by.

I have my first Dreamspun Desire novel due in November 1. Single Daddies with their kids all over the place. I think it's a fun little story.

Speaking of Dreamspinner, the next book in the Iron Eagle Gym series is now available for pre-order.

Way’ra Bernard is only twenty years old when his parents kick him out of the house. He has been brought up to believe being gay is wrong and he is going to go to hell for it. He tried very hard not to be gay but couldn’t change the way he felt. Now he’s living furtively in a closet on the third floor of the place he’s working as a janitor—the Iron Eagle Gym.

Neal McPherson is an unattached Dom in his midtwenties and a member of the gym. One evening after working out, he notices Way’ra on the stairs, and he’s immediately attracted and intrigued, so he asks Way’ra out. Unable to come up with a reason to refuse, and also interested in Neal, Way’ra accepts.

There are a lot of obstacles to the relationship they attempt to build after their date, not least of which is Way’ra’s upbringing and his lingering doubts about the kinky sex Neal enjoys. But with patience and persistence, Neal might convince Way’ra not only to accept himself, but to loosen his inhibitions enough to explore and find a happy ending together.

Suddenly Sunday

It's a gorgeous day! Low humidity, blow skies, a nice breeze and a temperature under 25! I have the front and back doors open, getting a cross-breeze going through. It's so nice to have fresh air blowing through the house. Cool fresh air.

Yesterday was full of errands and doing things and felt like go go go until supper, which was at Moxie's. I do love their steak and their sushi cones. And I discovered that their berry pavlova is extremely yummy - it's crunchy and creamy, sweet and tart and very bright in the mouth - hits a lot of great notes.

Today was less wandering and less getting stuff done, and more lazily enjoying the absolutely gorgeous day. I've got shrimp skewers for the grill tonight and I'll be doing some grits to go with them.

I went to T&T, it's an Asian supermarket and they had Dong as their in store special. I wonder if they knew I was coming? Seems pretty cheap to me, too.

I also went to Ikea because it had been too long since I'd had the 'wrench' sour candy. Yeah, wrench is in quotes because it looks way more like a cock and balls than any other sort of tool. I also got a bunch of raspberry puckers, which don't look like anything suggestive, but there is the small matter of their name...

This coming week is filling up quickly. I have two edits that came in this weekend that need to be done. Tomorrow is the cover reveal for Emergency Services and then I have to put the book files up on All Romance and Amazon for Thursday.

If anyone would like to host a blog tour date for the book - let me know via email, or in the comments, or FB message me or something. I'd love to get the word out to as many folks as possible. I can't wait for everyone to meet Jet and Blaze - my cop and firefighter. I'm super excited about this one.

Have a great rest of the weekend.

Suddenly Sunday

And suddenly August 21... Wow, time is marching on like it's late for a hot date.

Olympics almost over - I'll watch the closing ceremonies tonight and do a last Olympics observations tomorrow.

Did errands and edits today, along with filling out some cover forms. And the word goes on.

It rained all day, now it's not. They were calling for thundershowers, but that totally didn't happen. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little cooler - though I'm not sure if that's going to happen given that we didn't get the thunderstorms to clear things out, but then it's back to fairly warm. By next weekend it should be more temperate. Not cool or cold, but not as hot as its been. I'm looking forward to being able to keep the back door open and having a nice breeze blow through. And wearing a sweater or a hoodie. Man, I miss the cooler weather.

With Underground: Emergency Services at edits, I'm trying to plan out my self-pub schedule. I want to do a Velvet Glove book a Hammer book a Mannies, a Fairytale Shifters... so many stories, not enough time. If I didn't have to sleep, I could totally get twice as much done!

Okay. I've erranded, I've worked, and tomorrow is Monday. Time to grill up some burgers and sit back and relax for the evening.

Have a good end of the weekend!

Suddenly Sunday

Suddenly Sunday is almost over! Yikes, the days just zoom zoom zoom.

So yesterday I had a Smuttapalooza -- 10 smutty excerpts from ten different new and recent releases. Scroll back if you haven't had a chance to read yet.

Speaking of steamy, the weather is turning fast. today was 34C, which translates to too hot in Fahrenheit ;) Too hot for me, anyway. And I can always tell it's getting hotter outside because it's much hotter inside, even with the A/C set the same and the fan running higher. I shall try not to complain too much, but 'tis the season for it.

This was going to be longer, but the heat has fried my brain and I can't remember what else I was going to say. Stupid hot weather ;)

Have a great week.

Suddenly Sunday

I have no words of my own. I know this song was written about a different shooting but, more than 30 years later, it might as well have been written for today.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes
And make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song
How long, how long...
'cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...

Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

How long...
How long must we sing this song
How long, how long...
'cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...tonight...

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Oh, wipe your blood shot eyes
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die

(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

The real battle just begun
To claim the victory Jesus won
On...

Sunday Bloody Sunday
Sunday Bloody Sunday...

Suddenly Sunday

Boom, the weekend is almost over and I'm not sure where it went. I got a lot accomplished -- wound up running around both yesterday and today more than I'd originally planned, but I'm hoping to spend most of the coming week, holed up in the house writing madly. Books, blog posts, all the stuff that needs writing.

And on the subject of 'boom' where the heck did May go and how are we already at the fifth of June? I swear there are some times when I look at how fast time goes and it makes me catch my breath.

Today is a grey day. It rained all morning, which we totally needed. The grass had tons of brown patches, which usually only happens near the end of August. I must admit that it has been nice not to have the humidity, and today is all about the humidity, but we do need the water if we don't want produce to cost a fortune later this summer.

Went to the market in the pouring rain -- not very busy. It did mean I didn't have to wait anywhere, but damn, it's not good for sales and I felt bad for the vendors who get to stand around all day in the bad weather and not have much to show for it. I tell you what, though. The first strawberries of the year have arrived! One farm had them and I grabbed a pint. God, so good. The ones we get imported are tasteless compared to the homegrown ones. Even the ones that weren't anywhere near as ripe as they could have been tasted so much better than the pretty but flavorless ones that come in from elsewhere. It should be good pickings until mid-July and then a few of the farms should have the ones that will go right until September. I do love me some strawberries. Maybe I'll go picking this year and get some of them and some raspberries and make jam. We'll see if time cooperates or not!

I've got an edit to finish before I can call it a day today - so I'd better get back to that.

I hope everyone had a good weekend,

Suddenly Sunday

Been almost a week since I got back from RT and I'm only just starting to feel like I'm on top of things. Thursday I made out the todo list and I've had three days working on it. There's still plenty on it, but I'm feeling semi-organized and somewhat accomplished. I will be pleased if come May 2nd, I have gotten all my submissions for May 1 in. We shall see.

I need to get my office cleaned. I moved it into a room upstairs like eight months ago now, and it's still a mess. It's just hard to pick a place to start because where do I begin? I should probably make myself do fifteen minutes on it a day or something. I don't even have to finish anything that way, just get fifteen minutes worth of work done. Boom. You'd think that would do it, wouldn't you? Eventually? Or at least make it seem less like I'll never get it done so why start. We'll see.

I have a story in the 7 & 7 sci-fi and fantasy anthology from DSP Publications. This is a free book, currently available for pre-order. It's release date is May 10.

Humankind possesses a dual nature, the ability to rise to the brightest heights—or sink to the darkest and most perverse depths.

What inspires some to reach the pinnacles of virtue while others cannot resist the temptations of vice? Is it something innate, or a result of destiny and circumstance?

Delve into the minds and spirits of saints and sinners alike with a collection of stories that explore the call toward good or evil—and the consequences of answering it. For while rewards certainly await the righteous, there are also pleasures to be found in the darkness. Venture off the expected path with some of the most innovative voices in LGBT speculative fiction as they present their unique takes on the classic vices and virtues.

It's here

DSP Publications has also taken on my Windbrothers book. They are republishing the first one and I am writing the rest of the saga that I'd always wanted to write. The first 3/4 of the first book is now Windbrothers: Desert and.the last 1/4 of the original book will be about 1/3 of book two - everything else will be new material. Book 2 will be Forest, and then there will be Plains and finally Mountain. I'm so pleased to be resurrecting this world. Windbrothers: Desert is available for pre-order and will be out on May 24. And it's got a great new cover on it :)

Banished from his homeland, Surial is sent to Azize to run the family business. When he wins a slave, Kade, in a dog race, Surial is unsure what to do with him, as he doesn’t believe in slavery. Kade’s way with horses leads to him being relegated to the stables, where Surial becomes drawn to the big, quiet man.

A proud warrior at heart, Kade has been a slave for too long, and when he is passed to yet another owner, he goes without a fight, no hope left in him. When he discovers Surial’s secret, a fragile friendship blossoms between the unlikely master and the unwilling slave as Kade shows Surial that what lies within him is not a curse but a gift.

In a world of magic, Surial and Kade face their fears and hopes amid dangers that threaten both of them as their friendship is put to the test. What lies at the end of their trials is something more precious than either of them has ever dreamed of.

It's currently 25% off, but that will only last until the end of today. You can get it  here.

Okay, I need to either get some work done or go lie in the lovely breezes and sleep.

Have a great Sunday!

Suddenly Sunday

The first Sunday of 2016! And it's a beautiful day. Not too cold, woke up to a beautiful world covered in snow and it's still falling. When there's snow like this, there's this lovely hush that falls over everything. Especially in the morning before there's lots of traffic and stuff. Anyway. Just one of the reasons why I love winter.

It's been a fairly quiet week. I have done some work, but a lot less than usual. Of course this means that come tomorrow I'll be in massive catch up mode, but that's okay. I'm feeling like I got some time off.

There's a bunch of new television shows starting, which I'm looking forward to. It's always fun to have that potential just sitting there. Especially for the sci-fi and fantasy ones - those are my favorite. Hell, I like TV.

I haven't made any resolutions this year, except to be more positive. And I'd like to either FB or tweet something positive everyday, something I'm grateful for. I think I've crowed about the snow and winter over the last couple of days so that works. I would like to be in the habit, though of actually typing in 'today I am grateful for'. Even if it's the same thing each day.

It might be a movie day today. I have a bunch on Blu-Ray that I haven't seen yet and I'm feeling nice and lazy on this last day before jumping back into the routine.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Suddenly Sunday

Man, my day sense is totally messed up. Take me out of the routine and I lose that entirely. So today really is suddenly it's Sunday!

Had a great Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day Today has been a lazy introduction back into things. Tomorrow I shall get properly back into the swing, back into the routine and be the better for it. I was ready for the break, but am even more ready to get back into it.

I got some great presents. My favorite might be the neat square fishtank I got. I'm going to get a beta for it (I think) and it'll live in my office. I also got wireless earphones for working out at the gym. The wires on my regular earphones always mess me up so these should be good.

Other gifts included much chocolate, which I will try to make last rather than eat all at once.

Christmas Dinner included duck, sour red cabbage, roasted potatoes, tortiere, brussels sprouts and lots of roasted root vegetables. Dessert included pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cranberry salad and tons of cookies. It was all very good and there are a nice amount of leftovers.

I don't usually do much for New Year's Eve. A small bottle of sparkling wine has been purchased, though so there will at least be a toast.

I hope everyone's had a great few days and that next week is good to you all.

Suddenly Sunday

It's Sunday and I have only two more full days before I get on the plane to go home. I can't believe it's already been nearly three weeks. Time always seems to go fast, but when I'm having fun it goes even faster.

It'll be nice to be home, but I'm going to miss being here big time.

The next Mannies book is back with the editor. It's coming out officially on December 18, but hopefully I'll have it up a bit before that.

Two and a half weeks until Christmas. Surprisingly enough, this year I feel more prepared at this point than I usually am. I should knock on wood, right?

All I need now is snow. Having said that, I'd like the snow to hold off until I'm home. Just in case it causes problems with take-offs and landings. I paid my dues on travel karma on the way down.

Everyone have a good week!

Suddenly Sunday

Still having a blast with BA and Julia, BA's momma and the doggies (of which there are currently four!). It's great visiting with friends and spending the holidays. It's even better when the people you are visiting totally get that the writing isn't something that goes away just because it's a holiday.

The next Mannies is coming in about three weeks. I'm very excited to share Jack and Dan with everyone :)

Smutty Advent starts in two days. It's one of my favorite holiday traditions.

I have had all the turkey possible. Turkey done in the oven. Fried turkey. Turkey sandwiches. Turkey soup. Turkey salad. I am about turkey-ed out. I'm pretty sure I don't even want to see it at Christmas this year.

In the past, I've had lamb roast, not my favorite, though I like it well enough. There's also ham, which I have to be in the right mood for. I do like a roast duck or roast goose, but there's not a ton of meat on either. Roast beef is also an option and I really like it. Hell, what about pigeon? Nah, I don't think I want to eat anything that seems to be a rat on wings ;)

New Boy comes out on Wednesday! Along with Window Dressing, Unto Us the Time Has Come and Comfort and Joy. It's always exciting to have something new come out.

Who has Christmas decorations up? I'll have to wait until I get home for mine.

I can't believe it's actually December in two days. Which means just thirty-one days until the end of the year. Damn. 2015, I hardly knew you.

Okay, this has been a totally, extremely random post.

Happy Sunday!

Suddenly Sunday

Hello from New Mexico!

I'm here with BA and Julia after a crazy travel day that took twice as long as it should have thanks to bad weather in Chicago. We sat on the runway in Ottawa for over an hour and a half because of strong winds in Chicago having grounded planes and they were having a backlog. Thanks to having the United ap, I knew that my connecting flight was over two hours late, so I knew I would still be able to catch it. Then, just before I switched to airplane mode, I got notice that it was cancelled altogether! Arg.

So once I was on the ground in Chicago (and we wound up being in a holding pattern around the airport for 15 minutes because they were back down to only one runway - the pilot told us if we had to wait more than 20 minutes, we were going to have to divert to another airport and refuel! Luckily that didn't happen.) So, finally in Chicago, I went and stood in the huge line at the service desk. I had been automatically booked for a flight that left Chicago for Denver at 5:45pm and then from there to New Mexico at 10:30pm! I wouldn't be getting in until 11:33 pm local time and I had been up since 4am my time, which would have put me at awake for 22 hours... They did put me on standby for the 10:15am to Denver (it was currently almost 11am). The flight to Denver was severely delayed, though -- they were waiting on a plane to get in. In the end, I had plenty of time to go sit and wait for that one. And I did get on it.

Once in Denver, the next flight to New Mexico left in 30 minutes from when I landed, and I didn't have a seat on that one, either. So I knew I had to run. Once on the ground I found out I had to run from B24 to B82... I kid you not. I got to the gate to find out that that plane was also delayed, this time by about 45 minutes, so I could have walked, got on the stanby list (there were many, many of us) and did not get on the plane (only 2 did!). So, the next flight to New Mexico left at 6:45 and was all the way back at gate B31. At least this time I didn't have to run, I had plenty of time to get there and the folks at B82 promised me that they'd transferred the standby list to that flight.

This plane was the first one that was on time all day and amazingly, my name was called and I made it on the plane.

So I got into New Mexico around 8pm, utterly exhausted, and so happy to see BA and Julia and get out of the airport.

Good things about the day: I did get here, all the people at United were helpful and polite on what had to be a shitty, shitty day for them as every single flight that flew through Chicago was affected. Both planes I flew standby on, I wound up in the exit row, which meant I had extra legroom and it didn't feel so crowded, even though I was in the middle of three seats both times. And my checked bag actually made it to New Mexico before I did and was waiting for me at their service desk in the baggage claim area. And lastly, I got here safe and sound.

I'm hoping for a totally boring trip home!

Now we're gearing up for Thanksgiving week, figuring out what we're going to have to eat, where we're going to go, telling stories and laughing a whole lot. This visit is always good for my soul.

Although I can't believe this is already day five of my time here!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

Suddenly Sunday

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians.

I had turkey day food  yesterday as that's what worked best for the majority of the rellies. Today shall be a a fairly easy-going day with a smaller group of rellies and tomorrow is travel day, heading back home.

The trees are starting to go, but I'm hoping they'll be in full on color on the way home.

I have an edited manuscript and a cover for the next Fairytale Shifter story - this one is Rapunzel. I'm hoping to be able to have it out before next weekend. I can't wait to share Joe the gorilla shifter and Rafe the giraffe shiter's story.

I do love sitting by a fire in the evening, it's quite gorgeous. I don't, however, enjoy the way my clothes smell post fire sitting! Laundry is being done as I type.

There have been lots of pumpkin yummies eaten this weekend. Pumpkin soup. Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin cookies. Pumpkin cheesecake bars. I may be sick of pumpkin stuff by Halloween, but probably not.

It's slightly warmer here than at home, but not terribly so, I'm a happy camper.

I've taken a peek at my email, and there's lots of edits and stuff waiting for me. I'm on holiday though, so they'll have to wait until Tuesday. But it means I'll have another busy week coming up. They all seem to be busy lately. This is a good thing, though.

This random things post brought to you by the letter H for holiday and L for lack of sleep.

Suddenly Sunday

And wow, is that title apt today. All of a sudden, it's Sunday and did I get any of the smutterday excerpts done that I wanted to? Nope.

I got a few little things done, but not anywhere near what I was hoping to. Ah, well. I shall just keep bashing away at it, right? Eventually everything will get done.

I will say that today was a stunningly beautiful day. It was totally sunny, with that very blue sky that means no humidity. And the high was 18C, which is just perfect. I adore days that go cold overnight and up to 20C at the most during the day. I put on a hoodie this evening -- I love putting on a hoodie.

There's nothing better for cuddling than cold weather ;)

So tomorrow is Monday and I suspect it's going to definitely feel like a Monday!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Suddenly Sunday

Man, another week almost done and now there's only one left in August. A week from Tuesday is September. I still don't know how that happens, but it does every darn month.

I've changed my background cover of the blog to First Steps. I love this cover very much, from the little booties representing the twins to the snow. Ah, it makes me happy to have a cover with snow on it, to know that winter is coming and it'll be here before we know it.

Here's the blurb for First Steps, which is a reprint that has not been available for a while now and I'm pleased that it's going to be available again.

Abandoned by his partner in the wilds of Alaska, single gay dad Peter Boone is at the end of his rope. He has screaming twin babies to care for and far too much time without adult companionship. To make matters worse, Alaska’s harsh and gloomy winter is about to close in on him, his twins, and their small, rundown cabin.

Park Ranger Chad Bristow likes living alone in Alaska, but after visiting Peter to warn him about an encroaching forest fire, he starts to wonder what life would be like with someone like Peter. Winter’s severity worries Chad, and he believes Peter and his twins won’t make it, so he offers to take them into his home. Soon Chad realizes that the attraction he experienced for Peter on their first meeting has the potential to heat up, beyond his being a good Samaritan. Now all he has to do is convince Peter that they can do more than just keep each other warm.

It's been a long week but a productive one and I hope that next week is going to be even more productive. I'm going to hit every one of those deadlines I've got looming. I am determined that this is going to happen.

But now it is Sunday evening and I've got a beer with my name on it and nothing planned until tomorrow morning.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
