My God It's Monday

Last week I was dozing off every half hour I was so tired. Today I'm wishing I'd done more actual work last Monday so today wouldn't be so busy. That's not how it works, though, is it? At least I've got lots of get up and go for getting stuff done today. I just need every Monday to start off gung ho.

Anyway. That is all I've got for today....

Suddenly Sunday

Been almost a week since I got back from RT and I'm only just starting to feel like I'm on top of things. Thursday I made out the todo list and I've had three days working on it. There's still plenty on it, but I'm feeling semi-organized and somewhat accomplished. I will be pleased if come May 2nd, I have gotten all my submissions for May 1 in. We shall see.

I need to get my office cleaned. I moved it into a room upstairs like eight months ago now, and it's still a mess. It's just hard to pick a place to start because where do I begin? I should probably make myself do fifteen minutes on it a day or something. I don't even have to finish anything that way, just get fifteen minutes worth of work done. Boom. You'd think that would do it, wouldn't you? Eventually? Or at least make it seem less like I'll never get it done so why start. We'll see.

I have a story in the 7 & 7 sci-fi and fantasy anthology from DSP Publications. This is a free book, currently available for pre-order. It's release date is May 10.

Humankind possesses a dual nature, the ability to rise to the brightest heights—or sink to the darkest and most perverse depths.

What inspires some to reach the pinnacles of virtue while others cannot resist the temptations of vice? Is it something innate, or a result of destiny and circumstance?

Delve into the minds and spirits of saints and sinners alike with a collection of stories that explore the call toward good or evil—and the consequences of answering it. For while rewards certainly await the righteous, there are also pleasures to be found in the darkness. Venture off the expected path with some of the most innovative voices in LGBT speculative fiction as they present their unique takes on the classic vices and virtues.

It's here

DSP Publications has also taken on my Windbrothers book. They are republishing the first one and I am writing the rest of the saga that I'd always wanted to write. The first 3/4 of the first book is now Windbrothers: Desert and.the last 1/4 of the original book will be about 1/3 of book two - everything else will be new material. Book 2 will be Forest, and then there will be Plains and finally Mountain. I'm so pleased to be resurrecting this world. Windbrothers: Desert is available for pre-order and will be out on May 24. And it's got a great new cover on it :)

Banished from his homeland, Surial is sent to Azize to run the family business. When he wins a slave, Kade, in a dog race, Surial is unsure what to do with him, as he doesn’t believe in slavery. Kade’s way with horses leads to him being relegated to the stables, where Surial becomes drawn to the big, quiet man.

A proud warrior at heart, Kade has been a slave for too long, and when he is passed to yet another owner, he goes without a fight, no hope left in him. When he discovers Surial’s secret, a fragile friendship blossoms between the unlikely master and the unwilling slave as Kade shows Surial that what lies within him is not a curse but a gift.

In a world of magic, Surial and Kade face their fears and hopes amid dangers that threaten both of them as their friendship is put to the test. What lies at the end of their trials is something more precious than either of them has ever dreamed of.

It's currently 25% off, but that will only last until the end of today. You can get it  here.

Okay, I need to either get some work done or go lie in the lovely breezes and sleep.

Have a great Sunday!

Smutterday - X-Factor

Dreamspinner is re-releasing X-Factor! Yay! It's had a clean-up and a new cover and it will be available on April 27, but you can preorder it now.

Game designer Henry Delloit loves his life, his mountain community, his isolated dream home, and the snow. He also loves that the X-treme Games blow into the area for a month every year, bringing with them hundreds of athletes.

Ecco Rasmussen loves boarding. He knows he’ll never make it to the big time, but as long as he can get on his board and go, he doesn’t care. If only his manager, Blake Dobbs, would cut Ecco a break. The man’s possessive and mean, and believes he owns Ecco.

When Henry and Ecco meet at the Branchberry Games, it’s lust at first sight. An injury on Ecco’s qualifying run offers an opportunity to spend quality time together at Henry’s home, away from the crowds and out from under Blake’s thumb.

At this rate, lust might turn into love, but not if they can’t keep their romance hidden from Blake.

smutty excerpt:

Henry smiled the entire way home. Not just smiled, he sang along with the radio, not even caring that he’d done nearly three hours round trip just for dinner. He’d have gone a lot farther to see Ecco. He wondered how big of a stalker it would make him if he followed Ecco not only to the other two local games, but also to some of the ones farther afield.

He’d never been so taken with a boarder. Sure, he loved the type, loved going to the local X Games and hanging out around them, watching them with their love of fun and joy for life. This was different, though. Something about Ecco drew him in, and he wanted to spend more time with the boarder, find out if there was more there than just a hot little body and flirty blue eyes.

One day at a time, he reminded himself. One games at a time. Ecco had said he wanted to come after the Branchberry Games were over, spend his downtime with Henry. He loved that idea and really hoped it worked out. The more he thought about it, the happier it made him.

He pulled up into the driveway at his place, the motion-detection lights coming on and making the night bright. It had turned even more bitter with the setting of the sun, and he sprinted from his SUV to the front door, tugging the keys out of his pocket. After letting himself in, he hung his coat on the rack by the door and made his way to the living room and the fire he’d left ready to start. He didn’t bother with lights. He knew his way around by heart, and besides, the moon made the snow shine brightly through the back wall of windows.

Lighting the fire was his first task, and he couldn’t help but think about what Ecco’s skin would look like by firelight. There went his cock, springing back to hardness. The drive home had been long enough to deflate him, but it seemed it didn’t take much to reverse that.

That decided him, and he stripped off his clothes, piling them on the couch before settling on a blanket on one of the beanbag chairs he had in front of the fire. Was it pervy to be thinking about Ecco as he jerked off? Maybe if Ecco hadn’t been flirting with him, interested in him, but the man was, so… no guilt. Henry was going to do this.

He wasn’t sure he could have jerked off without Ecco drifting into his thoughts anyway, so he just went with it.

Closing his eyes, he settled more comfortably. Heat from the fire washed over him, keeping his skin warm, almost like the heat of a lover’s body. He imagined that lover was Ecco. He could see the man in his mind’s eye—the sturdy, muscled body, the tight abs with the spiky black tattoo he’d caught a glimpse of, the blond curls, and those bright blue eyes. God, Ecco was gorgeous.

Groaning, Henry pulled on his prick, his hand still fairly loose and easy. He remembered Ecco doing the handstand at the chalet. He imagined watching Ecco make his run down the mountain, flying over the features. Even in the bulky snowsuit, Ecco’s body looked fine.

He tightened his hand a little, ramping things up a bit. He imagined what it would be like to kiss those pretty lips, imagined them coated with the powder from the spun sugar and pursed, looking for his kiss. The moans Ecco’d made while eating sounded in his imagination, going straight to his balls. Would Ecco sound like that when they made love?

Thumb slipping across the tip of his cock, Henry groaned. A shudder moved through him, and he did it again, pressing harder this time. The third time, he stopped long enough to tease the slit, push into it just a little. That could be Ecco’s tongue. The thought was even better than the sensation, and Henry whimpered, his hips beginning to buck, to push his cock through his fingers.

He replayed their dinner, Ecco’s smile and flirting flashing behind his lids. He pulled harder on his cock, his breath coming faster as he got closer to the edge. Spreading his legs, he dug his heels into the rug as he reached down with his free hand to cup his balls. He rubbed a finger along the skin behind his balls and gasped as he found just the right spot to make everything spark softly.

From there it was just a matter of working himself harder, faster, his hand flying on his skin. His back bowed as he got closer and closer, his entire body straining to get there.

Then suddenly he did, heat spraying up over his hand as he came, Ecco’s name on his lips. He jacked his cock a few more times, pulling out the last few drops of spunk. Collapsing back with a gasp, his hands dropped to his sides.

Panting, sated, he thought of Ecco and smiled goofily.

Oh man, he had it bad.

Random Friday

Well first off -- TGIF!

Can't you just picture angel wings coming off that back? All he would need is a horny little devil -- a forked tongue, horns and a lovely tail to go with the gorgeous wings.  I'll take a few pairs of those, please and thank you! And let me pause for a moment to enjoy that particular image...

I've got lots of stuff to do over the weekend, edits like whoa, including several submissions due in on May 1. I don't know where the time has gone. It can't be this close to May already. Somehow, though, it is.

I suppose there's no rest for the wicked ;)

Have a great weekend!

Movie Tuesday

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out on Blu-Ray today and I'm looking forward to seeing it again. I have a hankering to re-watch the entire saga.

Speaking of re-watching, I'm halfway through a re-watch of the Lord of the Rings movies. Literally halfway -- watched the first one and the first disk of the second one. Luckily, as I've seen this one, I can stop for a bit in between. I've seen the movies a number of times, but it's always fun to watch again. There's a lot to love about them and I find myself anticipating scenes and phrases that have become... a part of the vocabulary. One does not simply walk into Mordor... *grins*

That reminds me of the first time I saw Casablanca. It was back in the late 80s and I got to see it on the big screen. Concordia University had a film class every semester where they showed the movies they studied every Wednesday for free if you were a student, two bucks if you weren't. It was a double feature and each semester was a different theme so the movies were always different.

So one year they were doing a bunch of black and white classics and I got to go to Casablanca. What a neat experience. There is so very much in that movie that is a total cliche now, so many lines that are a part of our consciousness. But this is the movie where all those lines come from. When this movie first came out, it was all new, original. It was absolutely fascinating.

One year they had Science Fiction movies and I got to see Silent Running for the first time and I totally loved it. (Same night they showed 2001, which I didn't like at all. Hopefully I won't have to turn in my sci-fi fan card for admitting that).

Another year was Australian and Peter Weir moves (and this was before I actually went to Oz, but I knew I wanted to so these movies totally increased my desire to go). The Man From Snowy River, and Gallipoli are the two that stand out for me, along with The Year of Living Dangerously. I already loved Peter Weir thanks to Witness and Dead Poets Society, Gallipoli and The Year of Living Dangeously sealed the deal for me.

Next Tuesday I'll be in Vegas for RT, but I will be watching a movie - Cinema Craptastique is Tuesday evening where we will be watching Abduction and making fun of it via tweets!

My God It's Monday

And a Monday that really feels like a Monday. I'm off to RT a week today (Will already be there in fact if there are no problems with my flights - my first flight leaves here at 5:30 am... it was that or get in at nearly midnight and this way I have the day there with nothing scheduled).

Anyway, point is that I need to be organized by the weekend so all I have to do on the weekend is pack and relax. Ha. Organized. Right. I am going to try, though...

I've got a contest going. Just send a email to me at seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) for a chance to win this lined notebook. I'll randomly draw a winner on Friday.

I'll be giving a number of those away at RT, along with some books, and other swag. I'm also bringing some Canada themed temporary tattoos, so if you see me and want one, just let me know!

I have a new series that just presented itself last weekend and it's going like gangbusters. So yay for that. The noisy noisy ones are always special and appreciated. Not that the aren't all special, of course, but when they write like candy, that makes it more fun.

Speaking of candy, I am bringing chocolate bars that aren't available in the US with me to RT. Mostly in the small sizes they hand out at Halloween that they are now making available year round. They call these 'fun sized'. Frankly, that's a lie. They are like a tenth of the size of a regular chocolate bar -- how is that fun? But it does mean I have more to hand out.

The new cover as my background today is for X-Factor. This novel is a reprint -- thank you very much Dreamspinner for re-releasing it for me. It is currently available for pre-order and will be available for download on April 27.

And I have a story in a spec fic anthology. 14 authors, 14 stories, each about either a cardinal sin or virtue. I did prudence and I had to keep reminding the characters this was supposed to be a 10000 word story. In the end, I planned six novels that I will write when I've done with the Windbrothers series. That was the only thing that kept them at 10K, though! Anyway. The best part is that this book is free! It's currently available to pre-order!

I hope everyone's Monday is going well and have a great week!
