My God It's Monday - Olympic edition

Let's talk Olympics - are you watching? I totally am.

I've had guests the last two days which has messed with my Olympics watching mojo, I've just caught a bit here and there. Starting today, though, I'm focused.

CBC Rio 2016 ap installed on the phone -- check
Channels on TV where they're showing events memorized -- check
New Olympic swimmer book started -- check

Looks like I'm ready!

I do love the Olympics. It's funny because I'm not a huge sports watching person, but give me the Olympics, summer or winter and I am there, morning to night, watching the games. There are always a few, sometimes a lot, of magical moments, stories that make you amazed, that make you stand up and cheer from athletes of all nationalities.

Then there's my favorites, men's swimming and men's gymnastics, beach volleyball (men's and women's) and women's gymnastics. Love those the best, but I will watch whatever is on.

And yes, let me sit firmly in the shallow end of the pool for a moment. These athletes are in incredible shape and simply beautiful to watch. I have a things for abs, men's, women's, a good set of abs makes me extremely happy.

Happy Monday to all.

My God It's Monday

And a Monday that really feels like a Monday. I'm off to RT a week today (Will already be there in fact if there are no problems with my flights - my first flight leaves here at 5:30 am... it was that or get in at nearly midnight and this way I have the day there with nothing scheduled).

Anyway, point is that I need to be organized by the weekend so all I have to do on the weekend is pack and relax. Ha. Organized. Right. I am going to try, though...

I've got a contest going. Just send a email to me at seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) for a chance to win this lined notebook. I'll randomly draw a winner on Friday.

I'll be giving a number of those away at RT, along with some books, and other swag. I'm also bringing some Canada themed temporary tattoos, so if you see me and want one, just let me know!

I have a new series that just presented itself last weekend and it's going like gangbusters. So yay for that. The noisy noisy ones are always special and appreciated. Not that the aren't all special, of course, but when they write like candy, that makes it more fun.

Speaking of candy, I am bringing chocolate bars that aren't available in the US with me to RT. Mostly in the small sizes they hand out at Halloween that they are now making available year round. They call these 'fun sized'. Frankly, that's a lie. They are like a tenth of the size of a regular chocolate bar -- how is that fun? But it does mean I have more to hand out.

The new cover as my background today is for X-Factor. This novel is a reprint -- thank you very much Dreamspinner for re-releasing it for me. It is currently available for pre-order and will be available for download on April 27.

And I have a story in a spec fic anthology. 14 authors, 14 stories, each about either a cardinal sin or virtue. I did prudence and I had to keep reminding the characters this was supposed to be a 10000 word story. In the end, I planned six novels that I will write when I've done with the Windbrothers series. That was the only thing that kept them at 10K, though! Anyway. The best part is that this book is free! It's currently available to pre-order!

I hope everyone's Monday is going well and have a great week!

My God It's Monday

I think one of the reasons why I find Mondays hard is because as it's at the beginning of the week, it's when I sit and write out the todo list. I have a fresh week in front of me, and so often it feels a little (or a lot sometimes) overwhelming. The more behind I feel that I am, the harder the Monday is. Today is a very hard Monday! And yeah, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the todo list. I haven't even written it out - it's just in my head. Which I know sometimes makes it worse, but I just don't feel like  have the time to sit down and write it out...

I don't think I have anything to show for my weekend, and yet it feels like it was a busy one. How does that happen?

Oh yes, this weekend I shall blame the time change. I had forgotten about it, but my watch, my phone, computer, the TV, everything adjusts automatically, so I thought I'd slept in. Then all of a sudden it's 11am and it doesn't feel like 11am. It's only one hour, but my body totally feels it.

I imagine I'll get used to it quickly enough.

I have all these ideas for books but not enough time to get them all down. While it can be frustrating, let me just say here and now that I'd rather have this problem than vice versa - not enough ideas to fill the time. That would royally suck!

Anyone else watching Lucifer? I have to admit that this is one of my favorite shows at the moment. I totally enjoy Lucy himself. I have a theories for this one that I'm waiting to see pan out.

All the birds are coming back. The large and small woodpeckers are out there in droves, along with the cardinals making their laser bird calls looking for a mate. It's very noisy just before and after dawn. And the geese -- they're already in heir practicing their fomation flying mode and you can catch their Vs in the air at any time. Not to mention all the dry roads and sidewalks and the exposed ground everywhere. I have to keep reminding myself that it's only mid-March - the weather and nature certainly seems to think we're much close to mid-April!

I need to get back to the to do list because amazingly enough, if I just ignore it, it doesn't go away. Stupid to do list!

Happy Monday everyone.

My God It's Monday

It's funny how some Mondays really feel like they are MONDAYS and other ones are just another day. And it's not always because the day started early or you have fifty million things to do. Sometimes its just because that's how the day feels.

Today totally feels like a MONDAY just because. Maybe because I had a great weekend. I got a bunch of work done, and I also had some great downtime.

I visited the Viking Exhibit at the Museum of History on Saturday. It was fascinating because we hav such a one-dimensional view of the vikings as marauders and it totally was only a small aspect of their lives. And no horns on the hats! They used those to drink out of. Though I have to say, once you had liquid in there, you couldn't let go of it until it was empty.

After that I had lunch at this newish place downtown called Salt. Very fancy -- the chairs around the table were highbacks with dark blue plush fabric. It's not busy on Saturday afternoon so it was nice and quiet and the waiter was super attentive without being too much. I had the pork belly po-boy which honestly was more of a thick cut bacon than a pork belly and it suffered because of it. The bread was good, though, as was the arugula salad.

Came home and got a whole bunch of work done before relaxing for the rest of the evening.

Yesterday I got a bunch of work done in the morning, then went to see Deadpool. I knew nothing about it, and wasn't at all familiar with the comics or the lore. I have to say it was totally fun. Very adult in a good way. Then I had lunch at Lone Star. Queso, Buffalo Chicken Fajitas, and deep fried ice cream for the win! Oh yes, and a frozen lime margarita - I still love the one they do at the Lone Star the best.

Watched a movie on TV in the evening, and relaxed n the evening.

So it was a great weekend.

This week is going to be busy, but when aren't they? Bitten is being re-published by Resplendence on Wednesday and I have several submissions to hand in on the first of the month. I have the rest of the Hammer books to put up, and I have to decide what I'm going to do with all the rest of the ones that I've gotten my rights back on.

Anton has lost almost everything he holds dear, his apartment, his life in the city, and his long-time friend and butler, Jackson, who has been kidnapped by a rival pack. The one thing he still has is his lover and mate, Greg, who is learning to be a werewolf, even as they try to put their lives back to rights.

Determined to get Jackson back, Anton approaches the werewolf pack that’s his to lead by right, but that he’s largely ignored. They agree to help him, but Anton has to embrace his inner wolf to work with them, and to help Greg come to terms with what he is.

Meanwhile, Jackson is trapped—hurting and beaten—praying for rescue that looks unlikely, even as his time is running out.Meanwhile Greg is convinced he’s going crazy, fearing he’s hearing voices that won’t go away.

As pack Alpha, it all falls to Anton to keep his people safe, but there are forces at work that even the strongest werewolf might not be able to overcome. Can Anton keep his friends safe and save his beloved mate from the voices that call to him? Find out in this sequel to Sean Michael’s Bite.

Look for it at Resplendence Publishing on Wednesday.

Happy Monday!

My God It's Monday

My second Monday here on the blog -- man, time goes fast!

Also, with Special Teams now out, I've gone ahead and changed the background picture to a different cover. I tried it with the SWAK: Service cover first, but it just didn't look right. It's a great cover, but the main body of the blog fell weirdly across it. The Living the Dream cover, however, works great. So I guess it's going to be hit and miss on whether covers get used as the background, depending on how they fit.

Speaking of blogs, I (along with BA Tortuga and Julia Talbot) was invited to contribute to the Cafe Risque blog. I'm honored and totally looking forward to sharing Tuesdays. Our first shared post goes up tomorrow!

The blog tour for Underground: Special Teams started today. Here's where to find the various posts over the next while:

9/22: Amanda C. Stone, Fallen Angel Reviews
9/23: Guilty Indulgence Book Club, Cate Ashwood
9/24: Love Bytes, The Hat Party
9/25: Decadent Delights, MM Good Book Reviews
9/26: Carly’s Book Reviews, Kimi-Chan
9/29: Wake Up Your Wild Side, 3 Chicks After Dark
9/30: Up All Night, Read All Day
10/1: Scattered Thoughts & Rogue Words, Havan Fellows
10/2: Book Reviews and More by Kathy, Inked Rainbow Reads
10/3: Parker Williams, Multitasking Mommas

And talking about the blog tour, I have to give a shout-out to Will at Pride Promotions. He does a great job.

As an aside, SWAK: Service will be out on October 15 and Living the Dream on October 19. I've even got blurbage for you:

Sealed with a Kink: Service

This is the second time around for Master Simeon and Derek. The two men broke up a couple of months ago, but they just couldn’t entirely let go of each other.

Knowing there’s a strong connection between them, Simeon suggests a long weekend for them to try again - Four days, full on submission, exploring Derek’s need for service to be a large part of their relationship.

Can they make it work this time? Or will Monday evening find them going their separate ways once again?

Living the Dream

Went, CEO and owner of Dawson Dynamics is on an enforced vacation after a mild heart attack. He’s got a list of foods he shouldn’t eat and a prescription for downtime. Which is why he’s at Lake Tahoe, sitting in the hotel restaurant working on his laptop.

Chip knows all about life in the fast lane and heart attacks; it’s why he sold his dot com six years ago and is now experiencing his own personal joy in the mountains, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, hiking. Putting in a shift at the restaurant for spending money, he’s immediately attracted to the man with the laptop and a little flirting proves that Went is interested too.

Will Went and Chip have a quick vacation fling, or is there more there than meets the eye?

Speaking of Monday... is it Friday yet?
