Random Friday is Random

Long time no post.

And tangential to that, I can't seem to get caught up or anywhere near caught up on the todo list.

Woke up the other morning to a thick coating of snow on all the trees. It was beautiful.

It also melted and then the next day we got snow, sleet, hail, and then freezing rain in an twelve hour span. Walking was very slickery this morning. I have always maintained, once it snows, don't let it get above freezing because that's when things get messy. Like they did on Thursday.

The Perfect Sub is coming out on Monday. I've excited. It's already available for pre-order at Dreamspinner, All Romance Ebooks and Amazon.

Also, I've just put Underground: Special Teams back up on the distributors. It hasn't gone live yet at Amazon, but I will share the link when it does. Meanwhile it is available at All Romance Ebooks. I'm currently working on Book 2 and hope to have it finished and edited and ready for sometime in June.

I've got the Jarheads series and the Between Friends series on tap as the next things I'm getting back up on All Romance and Amazon. I just need to get the files organized and off to the formatter.

I have to come up with a dessert to take to the family dinner on Sunday. I shall be looking for something easy to go along with the little cake bunny I found at the store yesterday.

I can't believe there's less than a week left until April. This year is promising to fly by even more quickly than last year.

I'm still loving Lucifer, the TV show. It's my current favorite. My favorite was Criminal Minds and ad been for a long time. Then I'm watching last Wednesday and spoilers happened and I am not a happy camper about it. I shall continue to watch, but yeah, not happy.

And Big Brother Canada has started up again. This year they've pulled in a former Big Brother UK and Big Brother Australia player, so there's a couple of accents going. Hearing the Aussie accent again reminds me of how much I love it. That accent is the main reason why I wanted to (and did) visit Australia in my mid-twenties. Anyway, I do love Big Brother Canada, its one of my favorite reality tv shows. My biggest guilty pleasure!

I'm pondering having dinner out. I've got a hankering for scallops...

So that's the random brain dump for today.

Happy Easter to all.

My God It's Monday

I think one of the reasons why I find Mondays hard is because as it's at the beginning of the week, it's when I sit and write out the todo list. I have a fresh week in front of me, and so often it feels a little (or a lot sometimes) overwhelming. The more behind I feel that I am, the harder the Monday is. Today is a very hard Monday! And yeah, I'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the todo list. I haven't even written it out - it's just in my head. Which I know sometimes makes it worse, but I just don't feel like  have the time to sit down and write it out...

I don't think I have anything to show for my weekend, and yet it feels like it was a busy one. How does that happen?

Oh yes, this weekend I shall blame the time change. I had forgotten about it, but my watch, my phone, computer, the TV, everything adjusts automatically, so I thought I'd slept in. Then all of a sudden it's 11am and it doesn't feel like 11am. It's only one hour, but my body totally feels it.

I imagine I'll get used to it quickly enough.

I have all these ideas for books but not enough time to get them all down. While it can be frustrating, let me just say here and now that I'd rather have this problem than vice versa - not enough ideas to fill the time. That would royally suck!

Anyone else watching Lucifer? I have to admit that this is one of my favorite shows at the moment. I totally enjoy Lucy himself. I have a theories for this one that I'm waiting to see pan out.

All the birds are coming back. The large and small woodpeckers are out there in droves, along with the cardinals making their laser bird calls looking for a mate. It's very noisy just before and after dawn. And the geese -- they're already in heir practicing their fomation flying mode and you can catch their Vs in the air at any time. Not to mention all the dry roads and sidewalks and the exposed ground everywhere. I have to keep reminding myself that it's only mid-March - the weather and nature certainly seems to think we're much close to mid-April!

I need to get back to the to do list because amazingly enough, if I just ignore it, it doesn't go away. Stupid to do list!

Happy Monday everyone.

My God It's Friday

I don't know. Time is going faster every single day and I can't believe we're well into March already!

I seem to get a cold every spring - once the temps start doing that yo-yo thing where it's cold like heck a couple days, then so warm it's raining, then back down, then back up, etc, I get a cold. It's a little early this year, but then so is spring. And I can't complain - this is my first cold this winter. But man did it kick my ass. I've been a lump for a week. I am getting back into the swing of things again, though. Of course that just shows me how behind I am on everything. Yikes!

I've got one book available on pre-order - The Perfect Sub and Beer & Clay: Fermenting is now available at the distributors - All Romance Ebooks and Amazon.

Coming next week is the second book in the Losing His Cover series. This one is called Home and continues Alex and Bruce's story.

All my lovely snow is melting quickly. Luckily I also enjoy spring when the days start warming and there are light breezes that are actually warm. I like the smell of the dirt melting too. And because we went from unseasonably warm to winter this year, everything is just melting into the ground so the huge slushy puddles are actually at a minimum. Those slushy puddles are my least favorite thing about spring, so yay.

Last thing before I get back to the to do list - I'm doing a contest. Just send me an email - seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) - before the end of day today for a chance to win this adorable stuffed polar bear.

Have a great weekend!

Rig's Momma's Recipe Box - Chili

So the webpage is currently down for maintenance as many of the links were no longer valid and I figured I'd just go ahead and get it revamped and it's taking a while. So I figured I'd start sharing some of the stuff on it. Like items from Rig's Momma's Recipe Box. Today is Momma's Chili. This makes a huge pot of it, so if you want to cut it in half, it should be fairly easy to do.

Momma’s Chili

Ingredients

6 lbs. ground chuck
2 large onions, diced
6 green chilies, diced
5 dashes Tabasco
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 t. black pepper
6 t. cumin
12 oz. chili powder
6 t. salt
4 16-oz tomato sauce
4 16-oz cans stewed tomatoes
5-oz can hot chiles
3 t. flour for thickening
Water for thinning

Directions

Brown ground chuck in oil over high heat. Add onions and chili peppers and cook with the meat. Dump everything in a big old pot and cook for at least 2 hours. Taste to correct seasonings. If it's too thick, add some water. If it's too thin, add some flour. Cook for another hour.

Serve with cheese and onions and cornbread.
