Winter's Gift now available!

I wrote Winter's Gift a long time ago and it was a part of the Bus Stories Anthology. Torquere is publishing a number of the stories that were in that anthology as stand alones and Winter's Gift is the first.

This one is the sweet story of a loner, a hermit you could say, with terrible scaring along one side of his face. He lives alone in the woods with his pet wolf, named Wolf. As you can see Geoff is not terribly imaginative, so when he finds Mauve, a fairy, badly injured at the beginning of winter, taking Mauve home and tending to him is going to lead to all sorts of things Geoff never dared imagine.

Winter's Gift

Badly disfigured, Geoff lives alone in the woods with only his wolf as companion. It’s a solitary life, but one he is comfortable with. When he discovers a fairy with an injured wing at the beginning of winter, his whole ordered world is turned upside down. But will Mauve be horrified by his rescuer’s visage? Or can the fairy look beyond the scars and see into Geoff’s heart?
