My God It's Monday, holiday edition

I am having a relaxing and extremely fun time visiting with BA Tortuga and Julia Talbot. There has been so much laughter, the kind that is deep and bellyful and continues on long enough to make your eyes tear up.

We have tons of wonderful Thanksgiving food planned out. Everything from mimosas in the morning to turkey and sweet potatoes, deep fried brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce. Mustn't forget the dessert -- pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cranberry salad just to name a few.

Share your Thanksgiving menu (or just your favorite Thanksgiving food) with me in the comments for a chance to win a copy of No Regrets, which comes out on November 30. I'll randomly draw a winner on Saturday the 29th. If you don't celebrate thanksgiving, you can still enter by telling me what your favorite celebratory meal/food is.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not.

    1. What goes into a Broccoli Bake (aside from broccoli, of course.)

    2. Hellmann's mayo, cheddar cheese and cream of celery soup. 1 cup of each mixed together and into a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until the top is light brown and bubbly. There is so many of us that I usually multiply by 4.

  3. What a wonderful time you must be having! Sounds heavenly to be able to sit with friends and just laugh and laugh. Enjoy! So … as I’m the one who does all the cooking and baking (and I love it, I wouldn’t have it any other way) it’s hard to pick a favorite, but this year I think it’s going to be the new apple pie recipe I found that’s made with sugar cookie dough for the crust! It will either be amazing or a total failure.

  6. Hi, Sean: I can't get to the relatives this year, but I will be making a personal favorite: Cornbread and bean casserole in the crockpot -- only takes about 3 hours. The cornbread cooks on top of the beans/onions/green peppers/tomatoes, and is infused with creamed corn. It's a great meal if you like this variety. Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. So glad that you are having a great holiday. Nothing like a few days of deep belly laughs to bring on rejuvenation!

My favorite thanksgiving dish is a sweet potato casserole topped with pecans and brown sugar. No marshmallows.

  8. Thanksgiving is pretty traditional at our house: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and creamed corn. Plus my in-laws always bring something new for dessert, I think its mini pumpkin cheesecakes this year!

    1. We decided to save the brussels sprouts for another day because really, you need to eat them right away while they're hot. And I love them sauted with bacon -- yum!
