Sneak Peek Sunday - Branded by Flames

I thought I'd start a new thing this year. Sneak Peek Sunday. I won't always have a chance to do a bit and sometimes it'll be a snippet from a coming soon book, sometimes it'll be a snippet from a book that I'm currently working on, but I thought it would be fun.

Up first is an excerpt from Branded by Flames, the first book in my new series with Carina Press - Dragon Soul.

Branded by Flames

Introducing a brand-new male/male dragon shifter series from bestselling LGBTQ author Sean Michael!

Meet the Beteferoce brothers. Five dragon shifters, each with a strong elemental power. And each with a fierce desire to find his soul mate…

For years, dragon-shifter-slash-firefighter Jake has been searching for his mate, but he's beginning to tire of the search. Maybe soul mates are only for the lucky few.

Then he meets Shae.

A former navy welder, Shae is handsome, talented, into power play and rough sex, and covered in dragon tattoos. All of this suits the shape-shifting dragon just fine—until he finds out that Shae literally has Jake's family crest already tattooed on him. A coincidence? Or something more…

Jake must convince Shae to trust him as a man and as a Dom before the heat between them burns out of control. Becoming a dragon's mate is not without danger, and Shae will need Jake's guidance—and love—if he's going to make it through alive.

Sneak Peek:

Jake showered after his shift, taking time to jack off to the memory of the sexy silver fox with the gorgeous eyes and smokin’ bod. It hadn’t taken long at all for him to climax. Now if things went like he hoped they would, he’d be able to last a while instead of shooting like a high-schooler the minute he and Mr. Creates-Dragons-out-of-Metal got naked. Because naked-time was definitely the plan. Shae called to all his instincts, begged to be used, to be made to submit. And Jake did like to give people what they needed. He couldn’t wait to see the sculpture and the artist again.

He headed out, focused on returning to the scene of no crime. To the home of the man with the dragon in his side yard. It seemed like kismet, really. Stopping on the way, he picked up a couple of pizzas, making half of one vegetarian, just in case, and the rest all meat all the time, because he was a meatatarian.

The dragon on the lawn was in the same state as it had been earlier, which was cool—now Jake had an excuse to come back if it turned out that one round wasn’t enough with the delectable Shae. He rang the bell, still looking at the lines of the big metal beast, admiring the handiwork.

“In the back!” Warm, dark eyes met his from around the dragon, Shae’s smile more than a little come-hither. “Come on, man. I’m starting some steaks. You want one?”

Hot, Stacked and Sexy was in nothing but a pair of ancient, paper-thin jeans, and his undercut hair was loose, framing the bearded face. Shae turned and slunk—not walked, nothing that fluid and sexy could be anything so pedestrian as walking—toward the back deck. Glancing back casually, Shae licked his lips.

Fuck, but Jake’s urge to push the man to his knees and tug on that silver-shot hair, pull Shae’s head back and take that mouth, grew with every move Shae made.

“That trumps my pizzas any day.” Besides, cold pizza was totally its own food group.

“Mmm. There’s nothing wrong with a good pizza.” Shae turned, and there wasn’t an uninked section of torso and arms, the black and gray patterns fucking fascinating. Almost as good as the double-pierced nipples with their tiny rings and barbells.

Jake hummed happily. Maybe there was potential here for more than a quick roll in the hay, maybe his thought that he might need more than one night to get his fill had been bang on. Those pierced nipples spoke to him, whispered words like pain slut, which were two of his favorite words. The fact that Shae wanted to feed him spoke to him, too, said that Shae knew how to treat a Dom.

“We could save it for breakfast,” Jake suggested.

Shae nearly missed the last step, tripping up onto the deck. “We could discuss it over a beer. See if we’re compatible.”

Huh. He wasn’t wrong about the vibes he’d picked up earlier. What had a few hours of being alone and thinking sparked in Shae that he was wound up so tight now? Whatever was going on in Shae’s head, Jake had faith that he could turn it back around again. “Works for me.”

The backyard was even bigger than the side yard, and it was littered with art. Jake was eager to see it, but he wanted a beer and some close-up one-on-one time with Shae more. The art wasn’t going anywhere. Shae needed his focus.

“Beer?” Shae didn’t wait for him to answer, simply tossed him a microbrew. Good taste.

Jake opened the twist top and took a swig, the cold brew hitting his throat in the best way. “Nice.”

“Yep. How do you take your meat?” Shae said it casually, but looked at him through his lashes.

“That’s a leading question.” He lowered his voice to an intimate growl. “And I like it rare.”

“Rare it is.” There was a tear in those jeans, right under the curve of Shae’s ass cheek.

Jake itched to run his fingers along it, to feel the heat of Shae’s skin. Instead he took a seat, sprawling to accommodate his more-than-interested cock.

“How long you been a firefighter, man? You like it?” Shae asked.

“All my life, and I love it. Me and fire have always had an affinity.” The words made him grin—the biggest understatement ever.
