Wow, have I really not blogged at all since the end of August? Apparently not.
September always does this to me. Always. It's weird, because it's not like I spent the summer goofing off and so am suddenly in catch up mode, it has just been really busy all on its own. The rest of the month and the weeks beyond don't look like they're going to be any quieter either. Ah well. At least the weather will be cooler.
September's been a mix of hot days and cooler days, but for the most part, the humidity has dropped and so even the hot days don't seem nearly so oppressive as they do in the summer. And most mornings I open the back door and the windows to let a lovely breeze in. Sunday is supposed to have a high of just 18C and I am so hoping that turns out to be right. I shall be the one doing the happy dance.
I've had several books out since the end of August, self-pubbed, publisher pubbed, some reprints, some brand new and I will try to get smutterday excerpts up for all of them tomorrow.
I'm most excited about the new self-pubbed book. It's the first of a series called Fairytale Shifters, wherein the main characters are shifters and each one is loosely based on the fairytale it's named after. This first one is Beauty and the Beast, featuring a rhino shifter named Tromp and a panther shifter named Pepper. I'm working on the next one -- Rapunzel -- which features a giraffe shifter named Rafe and a gorilla shifter named Joe.
Fairytale Shifters: Beauty and the Beast
As a rhino shifter, Tromp knows that he’s not the sexiest beast in the world. In fact he’s clumsy and he can’t see very well, and that’s whether he’s in his human or animal form. Still, he enjoys going to the bar and watching the other shifters hooking up, especially the dancers. Then he sees a slinky kitty dancing on the little stage and he’s immediately smitten. He knows a sexy beauty like that would never go for him, but he’s happy just to watch and fantasize about what could be.
For his part, panther shifter Pepper might be gorgeous on the outside, but he knows most people see him as nothing more than a piece of meat and he’s had a hard past. There’s something in the way the big rhino shifter looks at him while he dances, though, that makes him feel special. So when his stint on the stage is over, he heads right to the rhino’s table.
Can Tromp and Pepper ignore the world’s expectations and find what they need in each other?
You can find it at All Romance Ebooks and at Amazon.
I have a new book coming out on Sunday September 20. This one was written for the Amber PAX collection called Texas Round-up. My story actually takes place in Canada with an injured rodeo cowboy and the man who helps nurse him back to health.
A Cowboy Out of Texas
Sam Hawker’s fall off a bucking bronc at an event in Canada has left him both physically broken and financially broke and in a hospital with his leg in traction. Between worrying about how he’ll pay his medical bills and not being able to move, he’s going more than a little stir crazy.
Easy on the eyes, Pat Bouchard is the nurse assigned to Sam for his stay at the hospital, and the two men get to know each other as Pat cares for and entertains Sam. They grow even closer when Pat offers Sam a place to stay while he recovers.
What are they going to do when Sam’s all better and doesn’t have a reason to stay in Canada any longer?
It will be available on September 20 at 35% off, at Amber Allure.
Happy Friday everyone!
