Didn't watch any movies in the last couple weeks, though there are a few on my radar.
Back when I was in university, for three years running I had no classes Tuesday afternoons/evenings and I used to go to a movie once a week. Wendy's for a single combo followed by a half price movie. So I saw everything that came out, aside from the horrors, which I never did love and still don't as they frighten me.
After that, I went if the movie appealed to me at all.
Nowadays, with TVs being so big and BluRay's and whatnot, it's just as easy to see a movie at home and I look at the movies that come out and they get separated into three groups - will watch when they're out on BluRay (the biggest group), would like to see in the theatre but will probably see on BluRay, and the must see it in a threatre ones.
This summer on the wouldn't mind seeing them in the theatre but will probably wait for the BluRay are: The Nice Guys, X-Men Apocalypse, Independence Day: Resurgence, Central Intelligence, The Secret Life of Pets, Jason Bourne, Max Steele
And on the I'd really like to see it at the theatre ones are: Star Trek: Beyond, Suicide Squad and Dr. Strange (I'm cheating with this one as it's not out until November, but it's the one I'm most excited about -- which I should stop being because anticipating a film makes it need to live up to a lot. But it looks visually stunning, neat, weird, and I think Benedict Cumberbatch is a fantastic actor.)
There are lots of movies that are on the see it when it's out on BluRay list, but they are too many to mention.
On another note that came up while I was looking at the coming this summer movie list - They remade Ghostbusters? What the hell? That's just not right. I think they should do something like what they did with Independence Day - same world x amount of years later.
Happy Tuesday to all.

My God It's Monday
The last few days have gotten away from me, but I got a lot done. I have another week of crazy busy and I'm hoping that then I'll be able to breathe a little. We'll see. Every time I think I'm getting caught up, I've usually just forgotten about something ;)
Watching the American Ninja Warriors: All Stars show. It just amazes me what these people can do. And when they're on, they make it look easy. And I think it's hilarious that they underestimated the ninja warriors on their 'skills' competitions. That is too awesome.
The weather network keeps promising that this heatwave is going to break. So far they have done nothing but lie. I am hopeful for tomorrow.
I've got nothing else -- the heat makes me brain dead....

Random Friday
Been a very busy week, looks like it's going to be a busy weekend, too. I would like to sleep in tomorrow and Sunday but I don't think that's going to happen, for a couple of reasons.
First off, because of all the stuff I have to do. Second of all (why don't we say second off?) as soon as it's hot like it's been, my bedroom just doesn't get cool even at night, even with the AC on, so I need to use either the fan, or the standing room AC I have. Both of which are very loud. So while I usually get a few hours of solid sleep, I usually wake up early, driven there by the noise (and with a headache). Some people deliberately have white noise machines, to my brain its horrible noise.
Kind of like the school bus trying to get the attention of the idiots parked in the no parking zone. It's a no parking zone because the school buses need the room to turn around at that section and today there were four cars. So he started honking and just kept on doing it. Oy.
Man, over 30C today, tomorrow and Sunday, plus it's getting humid now, too, so it's no wonder they're calling for thunderstorms over the next few days. I do admit that I love a good thunderstorm, I just don't like the weather conditions that lead to them!
The heat makes me lethargic and sleepy and it's hard to get anything done. Even with the AC on. Plus, I feel guilty if I set it any lower than 22C. I'd really like to set it at 20C, but then it has to run almost constantly. As it is, my electricity bills in the summer are more than double what they are in the winter. More Oy.
I had two releases plus a self-pub out this last week. I'm going to have to pimp them today/tomorrow here. Do at least one smutterday post. I keep hoping that if I can just get this next book turned in, or that edit done, that things will back off and I won't be feeling like I'm totally disorganized, but so far that hasn't happened. I will keep trying, though. And one day I will be caught up, right? See, I must be an optimist if I continue to believe that that's true!
I hope you all have fabulous plans for the weekend! Have a good one :)

Smutterday - Little Square of Cloth
It's close enough to Saturday still for Smutterday, right?
I just re-released this one as a self-pub.
When Peter is unexpectedly thrust into a BDSM club with a black hankie in his right back pocket, he has no idea that he’s signaling being a hard core sub who is up for anything. Lucky for him, Master Rupert takes one look and falls for the unwitting sub and takes Peter under his wing, in more ways than one.

smutty excerpt:
"I tell you what, boy, I'm making your first rule for you. No putting yourself down or you will get punished. And I don't think you're a pussy. I think you're a sweet virgin."
Rule. Punishment. Pure erotic desire slammed through him, making his hips roll.
"A sweet virgin who is a huge bottom boy. You just don't realize it yet how true that is."
His lips parted and he managed to get Rupert's leathers open. The man was hung like a bull moose, thick and fat and long. Oh, God, it was beautiful.
Rupert smiled for him. "You like what you see."
"You're beautiful."
"Thank you. You can touch, suck... whatever you want."
"Thank you." He took his courage in both hands, right along with that fine cock, and dared to lick a long line up along the heated flesh.
It twitched against his tongue, and Rupert groaned for him. Salty, vaguely soapy, and heady -- the flavor of his first cock was an instant addiction.
One of Rupert's hands dropped to his head, stroked over it. "Keep going, boy. Follow your instincts."
"Yes, Sir." Peter licked the tip, traced around the ridge at the head.
Moaning for him, Rupert made it pretty clear he was doing well.
The flavors fascinated him and his hips began to move, rocking in time with the motions of his tongue.
"You're a natural, boy."
He would have thanked Rupert, but his mouth was full and that would be rude.
Shifting, Rupert spread his legs just a little wider and the scent of leather filled Peter's nose. A low, long moan escaped him, pure need.
"That's it, boy. We should both enjoy this."
He nodded, lips slipping over the swollen head, bobbing and taking more in.
"One day you'll be able to take me in to the root."
That fat, heavy cock? Peter couldn't imagine it. Hell, a quarter of it filled his mouth.
"You just need to keep practicing." Rupert gave him a wink, but there was a husky, needy note to his words now.
Peter nodded again, beginning to pull, to suck.
"Yes. Yes. That's good." Rupert stroked his head over and over.
The praise filled him, and his hips sawed, cock fucking the air as he sucked.
"What if I told you that you weren't allowed to come until I said so?" Rupert asked.
That made Peter tighten, made him suck harder as excitement zipped down his spine.
"Would you do that for me? Hold back until I gave you the command to come for me?"
Christ, yes. He pulled harder, caught in the web Rupert was weaving.
"And if you didn't, if you couldn't hold it until I ordered your orgasm, I would have to spank you. Turn that pretty little bottom of yours quite rosy."
Peter's entire body went hard. Oh, God. Oh, God. No talking.
"That's what would happen if I was your Master. I'd make you suck me like you are now and I'd grab your head like this." Rupert grabbed his head in both hands. "And I'd fuck your mouth like this." Hips moving, Rupert pushed the head of his cock a little deeper, then pulled it back, then in again.
Peter cried out, bowing over Rupert's cock, his desperate sounds muffled by the thick flesh spreading his lips.
"And I'd order you not to come and when you did -- without my permission -- I would punish you. Spank you." Rupert's cock sawed along Peter's tongue as he spoke.
The world stopped, Peter's hands wrapped around the base of Rupert's shaft, the flavor of the man on his tongue and Peter came, shooting without a touch.

Random Friday
I think I'm going to have to put the air conditioning on tomorrow. It's like a switch was hit and suddenly it's pretty darn warm during the day and its only going to get warmer through this week. Summer is basically here. Now I had a good spring, so I shouldn't complain, but I probably will anyway - I don't do it in winter, but I do do it in summer.
I might need to zip over to IKEA soon and get some raspberry puckers and some of the penis shaped sours. Oh, they're supposedly 'wrenches'. But don't take my word for it - judge for yourself if it looks more like a wrench or more like cock and balls:
I'm sad about a couple of the TV series' cancellations I've just heard about. Castle. Damn, I've enjoyed that one, though I have to admit it's been floundering a little this last season. But I loved that show. I loved it from the first episode when he shows up to a take down with his own bullet proof vest with 'writer' on it. I loved how the more outlandish the theory, the happier he was.
The other cancellation I'm sad about it Limitless. I loved that show. I loved Brian himself and how he saw the world while on NZT. I loved that Sands, the British guy pronounced it N-Zed-T. I loved the way Brian interacted with himself while on it. The little breaks to the audience. The way they played with the narrative. One episode he decided to replace every 'bad' or 'scary' word with something nice. So it was fluffy bunnies that and marshmallows this - and they kept it up for the entire episode. I'm very sad to see that one go.
I have another self-pub that just went out. This one was originally in the Designated Bottoms anthology. It's a little BDSM story.

Throwback Thursday
It's a lovely day - spring is really doing its thing and all the flowers are coming out and it's getting warmer - hell next week looks like we'll be in full blown summer weather.
This reminds me of summer days the several years we lived on Somerled Ave. in Montreal. There was a park down the road, and the blocks were all residential, with big trees and front yards as well as backyards and I had friends across the street, down one road, and up the other.
Most summer days we would all hang out together, sometimes at the park, sometimes in various of each other's yards. The rules were, no going in anyone's house without going back home to ask permission and going back at lunch time and then at supper - whoever's place we were playing near, their mother would call their kid in for lunch and that would be our cue to go home for ours. Somehow we managed all this without a single cell phone!
We had a long driveway that slopped down to our garage, which wasn't attached to the house. It was attached to the garage for the house next door, so it was quite a wide expanse of asphalt and even longer than it was wide and obviously there were no cars along it. I can remember playing Mother May I and Red Light, Green Light along the driveway. I can remember the slope of the hill and the stairs up to the backyard between the garage and the house, but I have no memory of what color the garage door was. I do know we didn't have a car, so I'm not sure what all we kept in the garage.
Once I learned how to ride a bicycle (my father didn't believe in training wheels and spent one weekend running along behind me with his hand on the bottom of the seat, steadying me. He let go when I got too fast and called out after I'd successfully done it on my own for a minute or so. I remember being just fine until I realized he wasn't still holding on, then I panicked and crashed into a tree.) Anyway... once I learned how to ride a bicycle, I spent lots of time in the summer doing that, too.
I know one summer the kids across the street got the chicken pox and one by one the rest of us did too. I was second, coming down with it a few days after the kids across the street, so I could play with them and anyone else who had it while the kids who got it last had a smaller and smaller group of un-chicken-poxed to play with. I don't know why our parents bothered trying to keep any of us from getting it, we were around each other enough that it was a losing battle on their part.
We were at that house from mid-first grade through fourth grade and it was the longest we were at any one place until my folks bought a house when I was 14 or so. Summers at other places were different, but each year at Somerled, the summer days pretty much followed the same pattern.
I'll tell the story of Shercan the Saint Bernard who lived next door some other time... ;)

Between Friends series
I've put the Between Friends books back up in ebook on Amazon and All Romance Ebooks. And I love both the logo that Kris Norris made me for the series, along with the new covers for the books.
To celebrate, I'm giving away the last print copy I have from the series -- Sammy's Place. Just send me an email to seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) with BF in the subject line before Saturday morning and I'll randomly draw a winner on the weekend. I am happy to mail stuff around the world, so don't let living far away keep you from entering :)
When a frat party goes bad, just-graduated Jason ends up more than just drunk, but police officer Harry shows up in the nick of time, policing the party and taking Jason home. It's the start of something neither one of them can deny, a relationship that Harry wants to take slow, while Jason would like to go in fast forward.
The party starts something for Jason's best friend Sammy, too, something not so great. He's been hurt, and is being stalked to boot, which makes Jason hesitant to leave Sammy alone to pursue Harry.
As Harry and Jason become closer and closer, Sammy's stalker get more and more violent, until finally something has to break. Can Harry and Jason keep Sammy safe and fall in love all at the same time? Find out in this first book of the Between Friends series.

The boys from the Between Friends series are back!
Sammy has the worst luck with men, and too often it shows on his face, or his body. His best friend Jason worries about him, and finally convinces Sammy to come stay with him and his lover, Harry. Sammy hates feeling like a failure, but he doesn't know what else to do.
Peter has been Harry's best friend for a lot of years, but somehow he's never managed to meet Sammy. When he does, he knows just what Sammy needs, and he's surprised to find that he wants to be the one to give it to the beautiful young man.
Sammy's not so sure. He likes Peter, a lot, but he's messed up every relationship he's ever had, except for his friendship with Jason. Peter's pretty convincing, though, especially when he ramps up the BDSM lifestyle that Sammy craves.
Between Harry, who's worried that his old friend Peter is no better than Sammy's other men, and Sammy's ex-boyfriend, who isn't willing to let go, Sammy and Peter face one challenge after another. Can they find a way to make their love work, or will Sammy walk away from the best thing he's ever found?

In this third installment of the Between Friends series, Harry is not just Jason's hero. He's a cop who wants to help people, who wants to make a difference. The thing is that Harry isn't so sure that moving from Homicide to Vice is such a great idea. He hardly ever sees Jason anymore, and he doesn't get to hang out with their best friends Sammy and Peter much, either.
Jason isn't thrilled with Harry's new position, either. The job is far more dangerous than it used to be, and the drug dealers Harry is trying to catch red-handed might just be too hard to handle.
Meanwhile, Sammy is wearing himself out trying to look after everything, from his best friend Jason to the shop he runs to his lover, Peter. He's worried about Harry, too, because Jase is keeping him up late at night with frantic phone calls. Peter knows that Sammy needs a little mastering to keep him from wearing himself out, but when the worst happens and Harry is put in terrible danger, nothing goes right. In fact, the boys aren't sure that anything will ever be the same again.

Two very different couples. Two very different lives. Yet somehow they manage to keep things between friends.
Jason and Harry have settled back into life together after Harry was nearly killed when kidnapped on the job. But when Harry starts acting strangely, withdrawing from Jason and displaying bouts of mysterious anger, Jason starts to wonder if he’s losing his hold on what he and Harry share.
He turns to his friend Sammy, for a little moral support. Antique dealer Samuel has enough on his plate, though, buying a new house with his lover, Peter, and keeping up with their inventive love life. But when Peter hears about the troubles between Harry and Jason, he forces Harry to confront his demons, and to give Jason the chance to help.
Can Harry and Jason come to terms with secrets that might change their lives forever? With Samuel and Peter’s help, they just might, as they truly find out what friends are for, and what it means to let someone help share the load.
This final book in the Between Friends series tells the tale of a finely woven web of friendship, where two couples and two sets of friends become family, and where the intricate dance of everyday life comes alive in the most beautiful way.

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia
I'm taking part in the hop for visibility, awareness and equality which kicks off today, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
What sucks is that we need a day like this. We really ought to be able to get along, celebrate our differences instead of hating each other for them. How boring would it be if we were all the same? How amazing would it be if we celebrated our differences and cared for each other?
I don't tend to get very political in my posts, but sometimes I think it's important to stand up and say, I believe in love. I believe in love no matter your gender, your sexual preference, your color, your race, no matter what. You deserve to be loved, to love, and to be able to celebrate your love. Everyone deserves their happy ending. No, everyone deserves their happy life, not just a happy ending.
If instead of seeing someone different, we could look at each other and see how we're the same, maybe we'd treat each other better. (And by we I mean humanity.) We like to go on about how we're the only beasts who can think, that our intellect makes us so much better than all the other creatures in the world. Let's start using those brains for positivity. Let's use our brains to figure out the best ways love each other, on a micro and macro level. And why are we so concerned about who other people love, about what they look like without their clothes on, about what gender they identify as? What all the other people in the world feel/think/love/identify as doesn't change who you are...
I'm giving away an ebook copy of each of the books in my Losing His Cover series. The first two are already out, the third will be out June 15. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post, preferably with your email addy so I can send you your prize. If you don't leave your addy, be sure to check back after May 24 to see if you've been chosen as the winner.
Respect each other!

Movie Tuesday
Saw two movies over the last week - The 5th Wave and Captain America: Civil War. There are going to be spoilers for both movies below so back out now if you don't want to see.
The 5th Wave had caught my interest when I originally saw the previews for it, so I picked it up when it came out on Blu-Ray. I have to say I was disappointed. If it had been the two hour pilot of a television show, it would have been fine to have so many things left in the dark, because you would know that more details were coming. But a two hour movie needs to make sense. This one was basically pointless. Nothing anyone did made any sense and there was far too much left out.
Then there was the telling instead of showing thing. Lots and lots of telling. It's a movie for Pete's sake - showing instead of telling should be a no brainer. But the worst of it really was the pointlessness of it. I kept waiting for there to be a point, but it never did happen.
I saw the latest Captain America movie this past weekend. While I liked it well enough, I do have to say that it wasn't my favorite in the franchise.
I have never really liked Tony Stark and this movie did nothing to make me like him any better. The whole really felt like someone said - hey, wouldn't it be neat to watch Iron Man and Captain America fight? Who would win? Would would choose what side to fight? Oh yeah, let's make a movie where they beat the shit out of each other.
I also find the whole plotline of it's all your fault that something bad happened in the world to begin to be grating. After all, what would have happened if when the Cree invaded the earth, the Avengers just went, oh well, we might cause some damage, so we're just going to sit this one out? This seems to be a superhero staple, though, so I know it's not going anywhere.
Don't get me wrong, I did like the movie. I really enjoyed Bucky - the tortured villain, and the way he and Rogers both cared for each other. Plus I adore Hawkeye and always love to get another chance to see him. It just wasn't my favorite one.
It was fun to see Ant-Man and Spiderman as a part of the group and I liked the Jaguar. So it wasn't disappointing, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.
I saw the preview for Dr. Strange. OMG, this one looks good. The visuals were stunning and it's got Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role. It has great promise.

My God It's Monday
I've been pounding at the keyboard this morning, determined to get a lot done this Monday and start the week off right. I wouldn't say I'm organized, but I am getting stuff done, so yay for that.
The poor dog is going absolutely nuts this morning, as the squirrels are playing chase me in the backyard. Well, a pair of black squirrels and a grey squirrel are playing chase me, the little red squirrel is keeping out of their way and stealing sunflower seeds out of the bird feeder. The little guy is very cute, but man does he tell you off if you happen to send him scurrying up the tree. Noisy little chitterer.
It's been cooler the last couple of days, and I've been enjoying it. I do love feeling the need to put a hoodie on, especially when compared to the urg, turn on the fan I'm melting feeling last week displayed. I'm not ready to turn the AC on yet - it's too early!
So there's this candy that I call crack because omg, once I start eating it, I just can't stop. I don't buy more than a couple packages at a time because hello, I'd just eat it all before the ink had even dried on the receipt. I get it at the Bulk Barn and my favorite is the orange and they just started carrying lemon, too, and it's very yummy as well. Not that there's anything wrong with the strawberry one or the mixed berry one, they're just not quite as good as the citrus ones - that's just how I roll.
It's like Sweettarts. I like the purple ones a lot, but the orange ones are my absolute favorite. Just the best. Only now they don't make them with orange ones in them anymore, they make them with a yellow one which doesn't taste anything like the orange ones did. I shouldn't be surprised, though, I have a curse. Seriously. If there's something I love, that's the one that's going to be discontinued.
White Balsamic Vinegar - the Metro (local to my province grocery store) carried their own brand that had it at a decent price (most places have it, but it's a fortune). I'd been using it to make salad dressings for a couple of years and then they discontinued it!
That's just a recent example, this kind of thing happens to me all the time! My loving food stuffs is the kiss of death for it...
Have a good week everyone!

Suddenly Sunday
One minute it was Thursday, and I blinked and now it's Sunday. The weeks are passing very quickly, and let's not even talk about the weekends!
It's been a fairly cool one over the last couple of days. Funny thing is that a month ago yesterday and today's weather would have seemed warm, but after a couple of summer like days the same temps now feel cold. That's okay - I like the cold.
I've put up another reprint. This one is a short novella that was originally in the Animal Attraction 2 anthology that came out back in 2009. It's been out of print for a couple of years now.
Hiding in the Snow
Boston Bremmer, a freelance photojournalist who specialises in wildlife photography, has made his way to the mountains of Uzbekistan to meet up with biologist Mickey Donaldson to take pictures and video of the snow leopard in its natural habitat for a conservation documentary. The men get off on the wrong foot at base camp, though, and haven’t really buried the hatchet by the time they’re dropped off and begin their two-day trek up to where they’re going to set up their blind.
It isn’t just the big cat that’s a danger, though, and before they’ve even made it to their remote destination, they’re brought together by nature in the form of a terrible storm, and then an avalanche.
It’s a tall order, but Boston and Mickey are going to have to survive each other, the snow leopard and mother nature herself before the job is done. Can they get out with their lives and the film they need, let alone find love, when buried in the snow?

Long Time No Post
Wow, I get super busy and suddenly it's been two and a half weeks since I last posted! I will try to do better.
Put up a new cover for the blog background. Amnesia is a reprint (thank you Dreamspinner Press!) and it'll likely be available for pre-order soon, but is officially out on June 13.
Who wouldn’t want a do-over?
When Thaine wakes up in the hospital after a bull riding injury, he immediately asks for his lover Jerry. He has no idea who this man next to his bed is, despite the fact Drew insists they have been an item for the last five years.
Thaine’s best friend Jesse calls Jerry up even though he thinks it’s a pretty crappy thing to do to the new boyfriend, but tells himself it’s unlikely Jerry will come after so many years. He also doesn’t get why Thaine would pass up the opportunity to be with Drew since he’s young, optimistic, and hard-working, in short everything he ever wanted in a man.
Jerry still carries a torch for his cowboy, so when Thaine asks to go home with him to recover, Jerry agrees. At first they pick up their intensely physical relationship right where they were before the breakup. Jesse in turn, consoles the now homeless Drew and offers him quite a bit more than a shoulder to cry on, but in the back of all the men’s minds looms Thaine’s lost five years.
I've got a contest going on over on Facebook. It'll be open until Saturday morning, so get your emails in today and tomorrow.
I feel like I should have more to say after not doing a post in so long, but that's it for now. And hopefully I'll get back to posting more regularly from here on in.
Happy Thursday all!
