I'm very pleased to have BA Tortuga on the blog today!
I love your cowboys -- what is it about cowboys that makes you write them so well?
Grins Ms. J says it’s because I am a cowboy, down to the bone. Stubborn, prideful, loyal, and utterly determined. I’d tell you I just know the breed, balls to bones. ;-)
I know you do do all the different types of pairings (m/m, m/f, m/m/f, f/f). Which do you prefer writing?
I honestly don’t have a favorite. I have favorite characters, sure, but I love them all equally. :D
Bullriders or bullfighters?
Well, you can’t have one without the other, but bullfighters are my heroes.
What's the strangest were type creature you can imagine?
I think the whole alien, blobby, non facial critters are the hardest to conceptualize. We want faces. :D
Note: You didn’t say scariest. Scariest is clowns. Clowns are evil.
Long or thick? (take that any way you like, you know where my mind is!)
You perv. I like to contrast them, one against the other…
What is your favorite of your own books?
Whichever one I just finished. No, honestly, I have characters I love — I named my dog Sonny, after all, and Coke is my eternal heartbeat, but Mike and Jenson stripped me down to the bone…
How many bullriders does it take to change a lightbulb? How about bullfighters?
Oh, babe. The question is how many spin of a bull does it take? ;-)
Sunrise or sunset?
Sunrise over the mountains, please. Thank you. :D
Hard or soft?
Soft. (What? I am a lover of the ladies, y’all)
What's your favorite time waster?
I am a total freak about electronic puzzles. I do a crossword and a jigsaw puzzle every day and a handful of Sudoku. They turn my brain off and let me hear the voices in my head.
Do you procrastinate more at the beginning of a story, the middle, the end, all the way through it, or not at all?
8000 words. 8000 words in is my kryptonite. You know how many 7800 word starts I have in my WIP file? hangs head
What is the sexiest food/meal?
Any one I share with my wife. We love to cook together, to pour a glass of wine and chop while music is playing. It’s one of the times when we’re both doing nothing but focusing on each other.
Can you share a few steamy lines from Say Something?
“You work for me as a lead.”
“Oh.” Oh, okay. That made a ball of heat grow in the pit of his belly. The way Jenson stared at him, well, that made something else hot. He wanted to go again, honestly. He wanted to go over and over until there wasn’t anything left to shoot.
“You’re up for another round.” Jenson was doing more than looking at his rainbow now.
“Uh-huh. Totally. Up.”
“I like that. Want me to suck you this time?” Jenson looked so eager.
“Oh, no. I don’t want something I've been jacking off to for like my whole frigging life….”
Jenson swallowed hard, then slid off the bed to kneel on the floor.
Mike spread, eyes so hot they were burning in his skull. All he could do was watch Jenson lean down and lick the head of his cock, clenching his hands in the sheets to keep from touching. The heat was overwhelming, and his toes curled with the pleasure.
Say Something came out September 29, 2014 from Dreamspinner Press and I’m proud enough to bust.
Official Blurb:
Jenson has loved Mike his whole life, but he has never known how to tell Mike how he feels. After high school Mike leaves for college and his Hollywood dream, while cowboy Jenson stays behind in their small East Texas hometown. Neither man knows what to say to go beyond friendship, even though they come together through all of the best and worst times of their lives. The most amazing moments keep bringing them back together, but through huge love and terrible loss, sickness and health, their timing never seems right to take their relationship to the next level. When the universe gives them one final chance, Jenson must overcome his fear and say the most important something before it's too late.
