Still trying to get back into the swing of things. I did get farther on my todo list today and I'm still working at it today so I think I'm making a good start and hopefully most of this week will follow because the todos are starting to pile up.
Watched a bunch of movies this weekend. I'll talk about them in a later post. I'm thinking of switching things up a little. Movie Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, Book Day Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Random Friday, Smutterday and Sneak Peek Sunday. I don't know if I'm going to do Throwback Thursday or not. Maybe I'll make it a book thing and every Thursday feature a different book that's been out for a while.
Anybody have any requests for top ten lists? I know I'm going to run out of ideas and some Tuesdays are going to be especially uninspired, so if anyone has top ten list ideas... please share!
We're going into a warm spell. Not that it's been particularly cold. It's barely touched typical January lows, and now we have two weeks where it's going to be just barely above and below freezing. What the heck? Global warming? Oh yeah, we are definitely seeing it here.
I still have my little Christmas tree up. I don't really want to take it down - it's so cute with it's little Santa hat topper... but I should, it's dropping needles like crazy and really, Christmas is well over.
I will be getting to pulling Smutty Advent winners this week, damn it.
I'm also trying to think up what I might do for the first two weeks of February, leading up to Valentine's day... I wonder how hard it is to build a poll into blogger... Hmmm...
Okay, I should be writing. I have a book that is past due, two that are due soon, and one to get ready to submit.
I hope everyone has a productive week!

Smutterday - Velvet Quartet
Velvet Quartet
When his mam gets sick, Bene D’Ami’s brother Malif sells his services to two different men to earn the money they need to make her better. When both of Malif’s markers are called in at the same time, Bene must step in and fulfill one of the contracts. He arrives at the Velvet Glove an innocent who would rather still be in university with his books than at the pleasure club.
For his part, Master Dumont Westingcoat just wants to have a boy who will pleasure him and who he can whip on a regular basis. He’s shocked and somewhat dismayed when he discovers that his new boy is actually completely untried, and not the experienced lifetime sub he’s paid for. How can he continue on knowing he’s been duped?
Two men come into their lives to help build a bridge between Dumont and Bene. Tupo is a Glove submissive who is happy to serve. He comes to live with Bene and Dumont until he has taught Bene all he needs to know to be the consummate sub. Meanwhile, Dumont turns to his neighbor, fellow master, Gregori, for companionship and advice.
Can these four men become something more than two masters and two subs who must figure out how to work together? Find out in the newest addition to the Velvet Glove world.
Velvet Quartet is available at Amazon.
Smutty Excerpt:
They slipped into a room, Greg closing the door behind them. Dumont leaned against the wall, sipping at his drink and watching his fellow Dom.
“Are you the kind of man who enjoys men of strength? Friends who have needs?” Greg asked.
“Why don’t you kiss me and we’ll find out.”
Greg took another sip of his drink, then curled one hand around Dumont’s nape and drew him closer into a slow, sensuous kiss.
He opened to it, allowed Greg in, letting the man lead. For now.
The kiss was electric, shooting down his spine and settling in his balls. Greg wasn’t pushy, wasn’t aggressive, but he absolutely didn’t shy away from their connection.
Dumont slid his hand along Greg’s arm, up to his shoulder, then wrapped his hand around the back of Greg’s neck. Every touch was heavy with sensation.
They kissed one another, meeting as equals, their passion building steadily as they explored. The electricity in their touch continued, each new stroke of fingers making him feel alive inside. He’d never experienced anything like it. Oh, he’d had chemistry with lovers before, but never as strong as this.
They shifted as one, Greg leaning against him so they could meet, full-bodied. He gasped, the sensation of the heavy body on his own different, surprising, intoxicating. Delicious.
Perfect.
He ran his hands along Greg’s back, the silk shirt not hiding any of the shapes of his muscles and spine and they fascinated his fingers.
“Mmm. Very nice,” Greg noted softly.
He smiled against Greg’s lips.
“I’ve never made out with a man as large as you.” He’d been with many twinks, no one with muscles and strength and so much confidence.
“No?” Greg smiled. “I like to share pleasure with strong men.”
That raised so many questions, but Dumont found himself far more interested in continuing their explorations than asking them. There would be time for talking later.
He brought their mouths back together as he considered heading for the couch in the middle of the room. Greg took the glass from his hand and inclined his chin toward the couch. “Shall we?”
“Yes.” He followed Greg to the couch, smiling as the man put down their cocktails on the side table. He reached out and touched Greg’s hand, tugging him down.
“Hello, neighbor.” Greg’s smile was purely wicked. Hungry.
It made him wonder why they’d never done this before. “Hello…” Their gazes held for a long moment, and then he pushed their lips together, kissing Greg again. This time he had control of it.
Possibly because they had been busy, because he had been unhappy, because…
Greg held him, the connection solid, firm, confident. He still found that fascinating, and he leaned back a little, letting Greg hold him, keep him upright.
He ran one hand up along Greg’s stacked chest, squeezing one firm pectoral. Delicious. His cock was responding nicely to their touching and kissing, hardening right up.
Greg opened their pants, then gathered their cocks together in one hand. “This is good.”
It wasn’t a question.
“It is.” He wrapped his hand around Greg’s.
“Perfect.” They found a rhythm after a few strokes, and the pleasure made his eyes cross.
He brought their mouths back together again, wanting that lovely sensation too. They managed the kiss more easily, trading opportunities to explore, to press in. He grabbed hold of Greg’s tongue and sucked on it gently, and Greg squeezed their cocks.
He was going to come. Just from kisses and a hand job. He couldn’t remember the last time that had happened. He thought he liked it. A lot.
And it most definitely wasn’t boring.
He pushed into the kiss, pressed their torsos together, and enjoyed every second of their make-out session. He didn’t want to come too fast because he was getting off on this.
Greg hummed, backed off a bit and nibbled his bottom lip, then pushed back in to deepen the kiss. He liked it, and he slid his tongue along Greg’s, a full participant in the kiss. He felt a little buzzed—okay, more than a little, if he was honest.
It wasn’t the drink, though, he was pretty sure it wasn’t at least. This was a purely down to the chemistry between him and Greg.
He hadn’t met another Dominant that made him feel this way, not ever. He pressed their bodies together, enjoying the feeling of Greg’s muscles, not to mention the heavy ridge of that impressive dick.
He let go of their cocks in favor of sliding his fingers down to cup Greg’s balls.
“Oh.” Greg jumped, then chuckled.
He laughed too, cupping and rolling Greg’s testicles.
“That’s nice. I like the heat. Not too much pressure.”
Dumont chuckled. “Directing the scene, Greg?”
“Sharing information with my new lover.”
“That works. You’re my first non-sub lover.” He wasn’t used to being equals with his bedmates.
“It’s easier in ways. We can just touch and explore, no pressure.”
“Just the pressure to come.” But that was a different matter altogether.
“That’s a joy, though.” Greg cupped his ass, squeezed it.
Groaning, he pressed back into Greg’s hand. That easy strength was intoxicating, he had to admit. More than that, there was an innate respect for him as another Dom. It felt surprisingly arousing.

They pushed up against each other, and he fanned his hand out over Greg’s pec, continuing to play with Greg’s large balls with his other hand.
Greg squeezed his ass convulsively, fingertips digging in. Dumont enjoyed the sensations and the thought he might have bruises in the morning. Souvenirs. Reminders of a lovely evening.
Their kisses grew teeth, became more passionate as their touches drew them closer to orgasm. Greg was deliciously vocal, grunting and groaning, not holding anything back. He offered his own sounds in return, his body alight, Greg like a flame he couldn’t stay away from.
They shot within seconds of one another, close enough that he wasn’t sure who went first. The pleasure moved through him like waves and he rested against Greg’s ample chest.
“Mmm. That was lovely. Thank you.” Greg’s voice rumbled in the wide chest, vibrating against him.
“It was. And I should be thanking you.” He was utterly melted.
“Okay. We can thank each other. It works for me.”
He stretched, rubbing all along Greg’s body. Usually he was one to get dressed and head off after sex, but today he was finding himself loathe to leave, to end their connection.

Guest Author - LM Sommerton - Tales from The Edge series blast!
Today I have LM Sommerton visiting the blog with a series blast.
New beginnings
There’s a line in a song by rock band The Editors, “Some things should be simple; even an end has a start”, which has resonated with me recently as I come to the end of a book series. Tales from The Edge consists of eight books and four free short stories and began almost four years ago with Reaching The Edge. The main characters, Olly and Joe, have inhabited my head ever since and letting go has proved anything but simple. I wish they were real – they’d make really good friends and I think a night out with them might be an adventure!
I didn’t want to write a never-ending series where readers forget what the whole premise was about and characters become formulaic caricatures. That’s boring for the reader and the writer. But, I never imagined how involved readers would become with the fictional lives of a group of kinky, loving men who overcome their problems with the help of friendship, perseverance and a healthy dose of snark.
Whilst writing Tales from The Edge, I frequently found myself accidentally creating characters with the potential for stories of their own, so I may have to indulge in a few more short freebies when the urge takes me! In the meantime, the final book in the series sows the seed for a new set of stories I’ll also be starting this year. So the end really is a start. Thanks so much for hosting me. xx
To celebrate the final book in the series, you can enter a Rafflecopter prize draw here. Five lucky winners will receive an ebook of their choice from my back list. (Draw open Jan 10 – Jan 31 2017)

Series Blurb
The Edge is a training company with a difference. It’s weekend clients come for classes in bondage and domination, not team building and problem solving. The management, staff and customers of The Edge do not lead boring lives. In fact they have a habit of getting themselves into all kinds of trouble. Put dominant, possessive alpha males together with bratty, loveable submissives and sparks are bound to fly. Tales from The Edge are their stories.
Binding the Edges (Book #8 in the series)
Never let go of the one you love.
After recent traumatic events, Olly is finding it hard to get his head around what happened. While he tries to deal with a maelstrom of emotions, renovations at The Edge are in full flow, alongside preparations for tenth anniversary celebrations. Joe, his Dom, recognizes Olly’s delicate state of mind and does his best to reassure him. A trip to the New Forest with their friends, Aiden and Heath, helps the healing process.
Returning home, Olly and Aiden focus on preparations for the party. When Aiden is called away, Olly takes a walk to clear his head, keeping his eye on a brewing storm. To his horror, he discovers Mark Vickery, an old enemy, has landed on the island by boat and is out for revenge.
With Olly missing and the storm raging, Joe, Heath and Aiden set out on a rescue mission that unfolds in a way none of them expected. Can the storm wash away the past or will Olly and Joe’s future be destroyed by a twist of fate?
Excerpt from Binding the Edges
Olly tilted his head back to get a proper look at Joe’s face. Joe’s expression gave no indication of remorse or guilt, just his usual serene certainty that everything was under control. His control. He pressed a finger against Olly’s lips preventing him from forming them into a pout.
“Who knows what’s best for you, sweetheart?”
Olly ducked his head, escaping Joe’s finger. “You do, Sir.” In Olly’s mind, nothing was more certain. Joe only ever acted in Olly’s best interest, even to his own detriment. “But you don’t have to worry about me.”
“That’s for me to decide, Oliver. After everything you’ve been through recently I didn’t want you to be on your own.”
“Because you’re a psychologist and you were analyzing me?” Olly asked.
“No, because you needed a friend. I know what you’d do if you had too much time on your own to think. You’d mull over every detail of what happened and start to blame yourself, wish you’d handled things differently. Then you’d start worrying about all the what ifs with that creative imagination of yours, and end up having nightmares for weeks.”
“You know me too well, Sir.” Olly nuzzled against Joe’s chest, absorbing his warmth.
“I have better things to do with you in bed than watch you toss and turn in your sleep.”
“Yes, Sir.”
“So no sulking with Aiden. He’s a good friend.”
“The best. Now I understand why he didn’t run away when I interrogated him about what he and Heath got up to last night. I think you did me a favor, Sir.”
“That grin is far too wicked. I suspect you need to be punished.” “Ooh, yes please!”
“But you have packing to finish because we need to get on the road if we’re going to make it to Hampshire in time for dinner.”
“You’re no fun, Sir.” Olly was torn between wanting to play with Joe and his curiosity about their destination. He would also get to see Carey and Alistair. Maybe some of his other friends, too. “What do you want me to take?”
Joe gave him a curious glance. The press of Joe’s fingers under his chin tilted Olly’s head back. “This isn’t like you. Usually you’d have two enormous suitcases stuffed to bursting by now. What’s going on?”
“Sorry, Sir.” Tears that seemed to come all too quickly stung Olly’s eyes.
“Hey, now. None of that.” Joe kissed away a tear. “Are you having a tough time making decisions at the moment?”
Olly nodded. He worried that if he spoke he’d have a full-on nuclear meltdown. “Well, it’s a good job you have me, isn’t it?”
Olly bobbed his head, feeling a bit like a nodding dog toy. His head felt too heavy for his neck and a wave of exhaustion washed over him. He wanted to grab a pillow, one that smelled of Joe, hug it tight and drift off to sleep.

My God It's Monday
I'm tired this morning. I've got this stupid cold that's dragging all the energy out of me. The worst of it, though, is that my eyes are always full of moisture and sometimes it's hard to see. It's very scary not being able to see, or having somewhat impaired vision and I have to admit, it's freaking me out some. I'm hoping this stage of the cold goes by quickly.
So I've been kind of absent because of the cold. Just sort of curling up and watching a bunch of TV. Started Luke Cage - I don't like it as much as I liked Jessica Jones, but I've only watched a couple of episodes, so I'm hoping it grows on me.
I'm all caught up on Falling Water, which just kept getting stranger, but I kind of love it. And I'm one episode away from being caught up on Travelers, which I'm also really enjoying. Gotta love all the sci-fi that's currently available on TV at the moment.
I have to pick all the winners still from second half of the Smutty Advent. I will get to it as soon as I have a proper brain again.
And lastly today, it's BA Tortuga's birthday! Happy Birthday to my very best friend!

Wednesday Book Day - Making it Work
Making it Work
Parker has been Manny to Grif and Blue’s kids ever since the twins were first born. Fourteen years later, he’s caring for five kids and Grif is now a widower. Everything is about to change again for Park and his charges, though, as Grif is marrying a man with three girls of his own and the new family is moving to a big house they’ve built just outside of Ottawa.
Rand has been with his family since fifteen-year-old Josie was little, and he now finds himself transplanted from Austin, Texas to Ottawa, Canada when his charges’ father, Mike, marries Grif. Coming to a new house in a new country with a new blended family, he’s determined to make sure that even though they’ve been uprooted, his girls still have everything they want and need.
What could go wrong?
Park and Rand’s styles as mannies couldn’t be more different, the kids all hate each other on sight, and the newlywed fathers are busy honeymooning. It seems pretty clear the whole situation is a recipe for disaster. Can everyone find their place in this brand new family, including both mannies? And will Park and Rand ever see eye to eye on anything? The answer surprises even them.
This is currently available at Amazon.

Author Spotlight - Leona Windwalker
In the Author Spotlight today is Leona Windwalker, answering a baker's dozen questions and sharing her book Accused with us.
1. Accused is Sci-Fi - is that your preferred genre to write in?
I do love a good sci fi. It's probably my favourite genre to read, followed by fantasy/paranormal themed stories, but is it my favourite to write? That's a tough question to answer. The reason is probably going to sound a bit odd. You see, my writing process is not what most would assume. First off, I don't consciously decide to write a story and then figure out the opening scene and go from there. What happens instead is the very beginning of a book suddenly whispers to me. I mean that quite literally, the exact words, dialogue and all. I have to run to go get them down. Afterwards, when I sit to write, I just open my document, reread the last several paragraphs, and then put my fingers to the keyboard. It all simply comes out, until the words run dry. I myself don't know what happens next consciously, until I've written it. Kind of the ultimate pantser method, right? So, I can't say if it is my favourite to write, because well, they actually write themselves pretty much. I can say I enjoy reading the story as it appears, though, and as sci fi is my favourite genre, I suppose writing it must be too.
2. Sunrise or sunset?
Sunset, especially over water.
3. How many Talani does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Well, if they are on a space station, it'd take one to take the report that a replacement lightbulb was needed. Then it would take a supply officer to authorize the issuing of said bulb. Then it'd take a clerk to verify a lightbulb was indeed in stock, and let Engineering know the part was available and that there was a work order for a light bulb replacement. It'd take a chief engineer to read the work order and assign a tech and a non-Talani Volunteer to go tend to the matter. Another clerk to issue the tech the light bulb. Finally, the tech would go the designated level, and check that the bulb wasn't out due to a technical fault that needed repair before installing said bulb. If it's fine to install the bulb, he has the non-Talani Volunteer hold the ladder while he replaces the bulb. So, in total, six, at minimum.
4. What's your favorite timewaster?
My opening the Sims is a sure-fire way for the entire day to disappear. That and a good anime series.
5. Black and white or all the colors of the rainbow?
Black and white.
6. How long did it take you to write your first draft of Accused?
Three months.
7. What Sci-Fi writer has influenced you the most?
Oh man... I'd have to say Heinlein, Asimov, C.J. Cherryh, David Gerrold, D.C. Fontana, Andre Norton, and Anne MacCaffrey really had a strong impact on my reading habits. Hopefully some of their mojo has instilled itself.
8. What's your writing space like?
I write primarily in two places at home. One is propped up in my bed. The second is downstairs in the living room, in my Poang with my favourite fleece blanket. Whichever of the two places I am at, I have a table next to me, with coffee, snacks, and at least one cat plus our dog with me. I'll also usually have on my headphones and be listening to music while I do my automatic writing schtick on my Macbook.
9. Is there smut in your book and do you enjoy writing it?
Haha, yes, this book gets rather kinky actually. Do I enjoy writing it? ::giggle:: yes, but I'm always shocked when I look at what I wrote in that regard. Especially this time, as I've not ever written anything near that kinky and explicit before.
10. Beach or snowy mountain top?
Beach. Definitely the beach, and it should be a sandy one.
11. Did you make a new year's resolution this year?
No. I never make those.
12. What is your favorite thing about Accused?
I think what I enjoyed most about Accused is watching Matty come to grips with being thrust into an alien environment. Sure, he knew the aliens existed, but they were either on TV or at the Embassy, so sort of a vague notion of them being real in any personally meaningful way. He gets quite the rude awakening, with everything from the law to new foods, to coming to grips with alien cultures and even biological surprises he encounters.
13. Can you share a tantalizing few lines from Accused?
I certainly can. Here you go:
Blurb:
Matthias Reynolds loves his life. He's starting to make it as a graphic artist at last and has a job he really likes at a local café that pays the bills. When a night out clubbing leads to an awkward morning after, he's embarrassed and more than ready to forget all about it. When Talani Enforcers show up at the café, he doesn't know what to make of it all as he's led away in restraints.
Standing accused of crimes he struggles to understand, he finds he has an unexpected champion: the Talani warrior and war hero J'nah Quislin. J'nah knows that Matty is his. All J'nah has to do is keep Matty safe from those who engineered Matty's charges and sentencing. That, and get Matty to accept that universe always intended them to be together as one. All it requires is for Matty to return J'nah's devotion and offer his willing submission. Can Matty do it, with all that it will mean for his future?

Author Bio:
Leona is a longtime staunch supporter of human rights and environmental causes. Her favourite genre to read is M/M fiction and she particularly enjoys science fiction, fantasy, and action/suspense sub-genres—especially if they have a nice seasoning of romance. She has far too many books on her Kindle, has overloaded her phone with even more and, when not reading, writing, being driven to distraction by her children, or being overlorded by her three cats, can be found trying to locate the portal that the sock monster uses to steal socks from her dryer.
Recent head-reeling news for her included her novel Jared:Urban Wolves #1 being nominated for an Indie Award from Metamorph and placing as a finalist in the 2016 Rainbow Awards, earning an Honorable Mention. She's still suspicious that it's all been a dream, but as long as her readers are happy and she can find at least one of the missing socks, she's happy.
You’ll find her books on Amazon (universal link is http://author.to/LeonaWindwalker), including on Kindle Unlimited. You’ll also find her on Facebook at Leona Windwalker, where you can keep up on news regarding current, new, and upcoming releases.
