Throwback Thursday

The Mannies Inc series all started with a little book called... Mannies Incorporated. I have added a new book to the series every year since and have enjoyed the heck out of it.  They do not need to be read in order as each story is stand alone, although the Mannies Inc company refered to in most of the subsequent books comes from the end of the original book.

The newest in the series - Composing a Family - can be found at the bottom of this post.

Mannies Incorporated

Slayde's got the best job on earth: he's a nanny to Army nurse and widow Mindy's three kids. He's been with the family since the oldest was born and is Uncle Slayde to all three children. When Mindy's deployed, things aren't easy, but he manages just fine. At least he does until Mindy's big brother Drake shows up unexpectedly, announcing he's there to help while Mindy is gone.

Drake is almost a stranger to the kids, hot as hell, especially in his motorcycling leathers, and straighter than straight. On top of that, Drake's not used to dealing with kids, or with things like gluten free, recycling and not eating fast food and soon has Slayde's tight routine in shambles.

Slayde thinks Drake is far more of a hindrance than a help, at least at the start, but he tries to get along for Mindy's sake and eventually, having Drake around is easier than not. But what's he supposed to do when the straight, sexy leather wearing ex-cop makes a pass at him one night? Maybe there's more to Drake than Slayde assumed.

Available at Evil Plot Bunny and Amazon.

A Family of His Own

Will’s a widower with three little girls, including six month old twins, to look after. Most days it’s all Will can do just to get home from his advertising job in time for goodnight kisses, but now his mother-in-law is leaving the country with her new boyfriend and Will needs the help of a professional nanny.

Benji loves being a nanny; looking after other people’s kids is the next best thing to having his own, and as a gay man, he figures it’s as close as he’s going to get. He’s between jobs and is thrilled when he gets the call from Mannies Incorporated to interview with Will's family.

He falls in love with the girls right away, but also finds himself attracted to their father. Benji knows he shouldn’t moon over his boss, especially when Will desperately really needs his services as a nanny, but he can’t help but wonder what it would be like to have a family of his own.

Available at Evil Plot Bunny and Amazon

And Manny Makes Seven

When Adam's parents died three years ago, he kept his five younger siblings together, playing parent as best a twenty-one year old could under the circumstances. Now his academic mentor Helena has passed away from cancer, and Adam doesn't know what to do. He's shocked, but grateful when a reading of the will determines that he's not only inherited her beloved shi tzus , but also the house, a generous trust for everyone's education, plus three million dollars, some of it earmarked for hiring a nanny.

Hutch has worked as a nanny since he was nineteen, when he took over the care of his neighbors children when both parents were killed in separate missions overseas. He's worked with several families since and feels confident he can handle five children aged four through seventeen.

Hutch's arrival is just what Adam needs and as Hutch begins to turn the big house from Helena's place into their home, Adam and his siblings begin to see Hutch as more than just the nanny.

Can a path of tragedy and sorrow turn the corner to happiness and love?

Available at Evil Plot Bunny and Amazon

Three to Get Ready

Single father Jack Jones is in dire need of a new nanny. His five year old son Nathan is legally blind, he has twin baby girls arriving in less than two months and the girl currently working for him is leaving at Thanksgiving to go home and continue her higher education. If Mannies Incorporated doesn’t come up with a viable candidate soon, he’s not sure what he’s going to do.

Dan Miller is on the hunt for a new job. He’s had some great placements with Mannies Incorporated, many as manny to multiple birth families to get them over the hump. He even has experience with special needs children, so the job he’s interviewing for looks like it’s right up his alley.

When Dan arrives at Jack’s house, he discovers that this Jack Jones is his Jack Jones, the man he was in love with during college, and who broke up with Dan because Dan wanted children. Will Dan and Jack be able to put the past behind them and work with each other, or will their past keep them from having a future together?

Available at Evil Plot Bunny and Amazon.

Making it Work

Parker has been Manny to Grif and Blue’s kids ever since the twins were first born. Fourteen years later, he’s caring for five kids and Grif is now a widower. Everything is about to change again for Park and his charges, though, as Grif is marrying a man with three girls of his own and the new family is moving to a big house they’ve built just outside of Ottawa.

Rand has been with his family since fifteen-year-old Josie was little, and he now finds himself transplanted from Austin, Texas to Ottawa, Canada when his charges’ father, Mike, marries Grif. Coming to a new house in a new country with a new blended family, he’s determined to make sure that even though they’ve been uprooted, his girls still have everything they want and need.

What could go wrong?

Park and Rand’s styles as mannies couldn’t be more different, the kids all hate each other on sight, and the newlywed fathers are busy honeymooning. It seems pretty clear the whole situation is a recipe for disaster. Can everyone find their place in this brand new family, including both mannies? And will Park and Rand ever see eye to eye on anything? The answer surprises even them.

Available at Evil Plot Bunny and Amazon.

Composing a Family

Tenor Abriole has just finished his stint as nanny for the Wilsons. He was with the family for twenty-one years, ever since he was eighteen. Now he’s looking for a new family, but finding that at thirty-nine, many people think he’s too old, and those who don’t think that’s a problem are balking at the fact that he’s a man, or that he’s gay, or both. He finally turns to Mannies Inc. for help finding a new position.

Daniel Thorpe is a well-known composer who lives and breathes music. He very much wants to be a father, so he goes the surrogate route, and winds up with triplets on the way. He turns to Mannies Inc. well before his girls are born, but so far has not been happy with any of the men who have applied, until Tenor shows up for an interview. Tenor’s experience being nanny to five children, as well as the fact that he stayed with a single family that long are both pluses in Daniel’s book.

Could it be that Tenor is the last note Daniel needs to compose his greatest work yet – his family?

Throwback Thursday - The Mannies Incorporated Books

Waaaay back in 2012 (okay, so not that far back, but wow, 2012 is four years ago now, how time flies). Anyway. My point is that I started this story with a manny and an uncle and when I was done, I knew I wanted to do more stories featuring mannies and the end of the book sort of lent itself to that anyway and lo and behold the Mannies Incorporated series was born.

There has been a book in the series every December since 2012, for a total of four so far, along with one short story that's a follow-up on And Manny Makes Seven. All the books are once again available at both All Romance Ebooks and Amazon! And best of all, they now all have matching covers and sport the fantastic new logo that I absolutely love.(Thank you to Kris Norris for the awesome logo and covers.)

I'll have to ponder smutty excerpts for Saturday!

Smutterday - Three to Get Ready

I meant to do a Smutterday excerpt for this one ages ago, but things just got so busy with the holidays and a blog tour and smutty advent and it just didn't happen. But it makes for a great first Smutterday of the year post.

Three To Get Ready, a Mannies Incorporated Novel

Will Dan and Jack be able to put the past behind them and work with each other, or will their past keep them from having a future together?

smutty excerpt:

“You wanna lie on the bed so I can explore?” Dan wanted to look and touch and taste.

“You’re sure?”

He took Jack’s hand and brought it to his own groin. He wasn’t completely hard yet, but he was getting there. “I am.”

Jack’s fingers rubbed his package, dragging along his shaft. Dan groaned, his cock hardening beneath Jack’s touch.

“I have you at a disadvantage,” he noted regarding his own lack of nakedness.

“I’m just glad you’re not running scared.”

“Are you kidding? Scars are sexy, right? And this one…” He touched the scar on Jack’s penis. “It’s unique. Hot.”

Jack gasped, eyes rolling back in his head.

Humming, Dan leaned in and kissed the scar, traced it with his tongue as it lengthened.

“Dan!” Jack shoved his knuckles between his lips.

“Shh. Shh.” He realized it had probably been longer for Jack since he got off with another warm body than it had been for Dan himself. Being a single parent of a young kid made for lousy dating opportunities.

“Sorry. Sorry, I… I didn’t expect…” Jack’s words faded.

“For me to not mind? Or the touch?”

“Yes. All of it. I try not to be too sexual,” Jack admitted.

“You’re making an exception because it’s Christmas?” He kissed the scar again.

“I’m making an exception because it’s you.”

“Ah. Good.” Dan leaned in and rubbed his cheek against Jack’s cock. He knew Jack might blow quickly, but any of the three kids could wake up without notice and he wanted to make sure Jack got to come.

“I…” One warm hand landed like a weight on his shoulder.

He kept nuzzling, breathing Jack in. He knew this scent, could already taste Jack on his tongue. Jack’s prick was full, a drop of precome glistening at the tip. He drew back to lap at the drop, taking it into himself. The flavor exploded on his tongue. Oh damn, he loved that taste.

“Dan. Please.”

He nodded, opening to take Jack’s cock in. It spread his lips, and he sucked gently at the head. Jack watched him with fevered eyes, with pure need. He pulled in a little deeper, tongue working Jack’s flesh.

“Dan. Dan, babe… I mean, please.”

Dan loved the desperation in Jack’s voice.

He slid his hands around Jack’s hips to grab hold of the sweet butt cheeks. Opening his mouth wide, he encouraged Jack to move. Jack leaned back, pushed up into his caress, into his waiting lips.

He put on the suction, tongue dragging over Jack’s flesh, trying to see if he could tell where the scar was. It was there, thin and barely noticeable. He teased it for a moment, but then he became distracted by the glide of the smooth, hot flesh in his mouth. Humming, he squeezed Jack’s butt, digging his fingers in.

Jack made the best noises, low and husky. He thought they could become an addiction. Pulling even harder, he encouraged Jack to just go for it. He wanted to make sure Jack got his orgasm in.

“I… I’m… I’m close, Dan.”

excerpt (there shall be a smutty one on Saturday)

Dan Miller followed the instructions on his GPS to one Jack Jones’ house for his interview. He was trying to decide if it was a good or bad omen that he’d dated a Jack Jones. It had ended, so maybe bad. On the other hand, they’d ended because Jack didn’t want kids and he did, which was better to learn early on before they’d invested a lot of time in each other, right? So good sign.

Chuckling at himself, he went over what Drake at Mannies, Inc. had told him about the family.
Single gay dad, one special-needs son—the boy was nearly six and legally blind. Apparently he could see general shapes if they were high contrast and he could see lights and light contrast. There were twin girls on their way. In a couple of weeks. In a few weeks, in fact.

Newborns were Dan’s favorite. He loved that new-baby smell. He loved their chubby little cheeks and limbs, their fat bellies, and how quickly they changed.

After reading the file, he had to agree with Drake that he seemed like a really good fit for the family.

The position was live-in, so he paid close attention as the condo came into view. Not far from the beach, it was a decent size, not too big, but not tiny. The front was neat and he could see the backyard was fenced in.

Pulling into the drive, he turned off the engine and took a deep breath. Okay. Interview time. He climbed out of the car, with his best ‘I’m the perfect man to look after your kids’ face on.

He knocked on the front door.

“Daddy! Maddie, someone is here!”

“I’ll get it, man. Hopefully, this one will work for your daddy, Mr. Picky. I have to leave the week of Thanksgiving. I have to.”

The door opened and a lovely dark-skinned young woman stood there with a skinny little boy in thick glasses. “Hey there. Can I help you?”

“Hi, Dan Miller. I’m here to see Mr. Jones?”

“Sure. Come on in. I’m Maddie, Nathan’s personal assistant.” She winked at him.

“Very nice to meet you.” He shook her hand.

Then he turned his attention to the little boy. “Hey there, you must be Nathan.”

“Uh-huh. Nathan James Jones.” One hand was held out. “Pleased meeting you.”

Dan took Nathan’s hand and shook it solemnly. “Pleased to meet you too.”

“Hey there. Sorry, man. I was paying some bills. Crazy life.”

Dan looked up at the familiar voice and blinked. Strong jaw, blond curls, and the bluest eyes in the history of the earth—that was Jack. His Jack.

Dan felt like he’d been poleaxed.

His Jack, who didn’t want kids, no way no how, was he fucking crazy for even suggesting it.

“Jack?” Oh smooth, Dan. Clearly it was Jack. Hell, even if he couldn’t believe his eyes, the folder he’d gotten from Drake had said the guy’s name was Jack.

“Dan? Danny? Oh my God!” Jack’s eyes went wide. “Look at you. You look amazing.”

He kind of hated the way Jack’s words made him stand a little taller, a little straighter. “So do you. The years have been good to you.” Thirteen years. Shit, things had changed in that time, that much was obvious, but not how just a glance from those devastating eyes could make his cock perk up. That hadn’t changed a damn bit.

“Thank you. Come on up to my office and we’ll catch up. Maddie, you okay with giving Nathan his lunch?” Jack asked.

“Sure thing, Boss.” She tilted her head. “So you two know each other?”

“It looks like,” Dan murmured, still stunned.

“We went to college together, believe it or not.” Jack offered him that warm grin. “He was my first.”

“First what, Daddy?” Nathan asked.

“My first boyfriend, cowboy.”

Dan nodded. His too. First boyfriend, first heartbreak—some firsts were better than others.

“Oh. I’m going to marry Jessica Mitchell when I grow up.” Nathan announced. “She smells like flowers.”

“And who is Jessica Mitchell?” Dan asked, amused. He loved the things kids said.

“My girlfriend.” Nathan sounded so sure.

“Gotcha.” Dan grinned at Jack.

Jack winked. “Come upstairs. I just moved the office to the third floor.”

“I’ll see you later, Nathan. And it was nice to meet you, Maddie.”

He followed Jack upstairs, telling himself it was bad form to admire your potential boss’ ass on the way to your interview with him.

Jack led him to the third floor, to a tiny, cozy office that was all windows.

“Please, have a seat. I’m still getting settled up here,” Jack admitted.

“This is awesome.” Looking around, Dan sat in the chair across the desk from Jack. He still couldn’t quite believe it was his Jack Jones.

“Thank you. So, a nanny? Really? That’s amazing.”

“Well, I always wanted kids.” As Jack knew. Dan just never had found anyone to share that with so he’d found another way to have kids in his life.

“You did. That’s cool.” Jack leaned back, the light sweater he wore clinging to his broad pecs, exposing a line of skin at his belly. “Well, this is going to not be like the interviews I’ve done so far.”

Dan chuckled softly. “No, I guess not. Although it’s been thirteen years—I can see you’ve changed a lot. I have as well. More settled. Mature and responsible, you know?” He wasn’t sure he’d have given his twenty-year-old self care over a child.

“No shit on that, man. My world’s a drastically different place than I dreamed it would be. Better.” Jack smiled and, Jesus. Dan had never seen that look on Jack before—happy and peaceful and utterly at one with the world.

It made him a little sad that he hadn’t been able to share this with Jack. It was what he’d wanted back when they were together. Shit, kids were why they’d broken up, for Christ’s sake.

Dan couldn’t begrudge Jack for it, though. He’d had some amazing kids come into his life through his job. And if they’d stuck it out, that never would have happened.

“So tell me about your family, why you need me.” Dan had a pretty good picture between the file Drake had given him and hearing that Maddie was leaving, but he liked to have the picture directly from the client.

“Well, Nathan is five, almost six. He’s in kindergarten in a regular public school. He has an assistant who’s provided by the schools, but he’s not in a special class. There’s nothing wrong with his brain. Just his eyes.” Jack’s voice got fierce for a moment, sharp as a razor.

It made Dan grin. He did love a man who could go all poppa bear over his kid. That was how it was meant to be. “That’s good to know. I only met him for a moment, but he seems pretty well-adjusted and in line with where I’d expect an almost-six-year-old to be.”

“He’s amazing.” The ferocity went soft and goofy.

The Mannies are coming! The Mannies are coming!

The next Mannies Incorporated novel is at the editor, and I have just gotten the cover back from Kris Norris!

It's called Three to Get Ready and I think it's a great addition to the series. Also, I have a new series logo - it's on the right hand bottom side of the cover.

I haven't done the blurb for it yet, but this one is about Jack and his son Nathan, who is legally blind. Jack is about to have twin baby girls via a surrogate and the lady who has been helping out with Nathan is leaving to go to school in a masters program, so he needs someone new. Enter Dan, sent to Jack by Mannies Inc. Imagine Jack and Dan's surprise when they first see each other and realize that they were college lovers!

I'm planning to have it out mid-December. It'll be on both Amazon and All Romance Ebooks.

I'm excited!

Happy Monday!

First Day of School now out!

It's out! Both the full anthology and my story in it individually! And I thought I'd include a little not exactly work safe excerpt for this one today. If you want the work safe excerpt it can be found here.

edited to add -- use coupon code PRIDE2015 to get 25% off all books for the month of June at Torquere.

First Day of School

The men from And Manny Makes Seven are back along with Adam's five siblings.

It's the first day of school for the twins and Lizzie doesn't want to go. Hutch would love to let her stay home with him, but he knows it's his job to make sure she doesn't need him anymore and school is the first step.

Once the kids are gone, Adam teaches Hutch the hidden benefits to having the house to themselves!

It's available in the Family Time Anthology here, or on it's own here.

smutty-ish excerpt:

Adam kissed his shoulder, the curve of his neck. "Do you want breakfast, love? I can put some bacon on."

He did love that Adam had two weeks between when the kiddos went to school and his professor lover started teaching. Hell, three-quarters of Adam's classes were online this semester anyway.

"I could definitely go for something tasty and salty." Bacon wasn't his first choice, though.

"Tasty and salty?" Adam was on his wavelength, he could tell. His tall, blond husband was grinning, warm eyes glinting. "Ham?"

"Yeah, what I'm thinking of can be a ham now and then." He loved the teasing, the way they suddenly weren't in a hurry to catch a bit of furtive time.

"Oh ho!" Adam grabbed him, kissing him playfully.

He held his coffee cup out, but held onto Adam with his other arm, sucking on Adam's tongue. Adam cuddled right in, one hand dropping to cup his ass and squeeze.

His groan came from deep in his belly. "Coffee," he muttered, not finding the words to actually say what he wanted to.

"Uh-huh. Good stuff." Adam knelt in front of him. "We've never done this here."

"Oh God!" Hutch flailed, nearly spilling the coffee, and then finally put it down on the bookcase next to the window.

It felt naughty, wicked, to have his cock coming out of his jeans right here in the living room.

"What if someone comes up the walk?" he whispered.

"The door's locked. They can't see me."

"You think I'll be able to keep my face straight?" Hutch didn't think he was that good of an actor, even when he wasn't getting a blow job.
